Country Music Legend Toby Keith's Cause of Death Revealed

Country music star Toby Keith has passed away at the age of 62. The singer reportedly died surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, with a statement released by his family members noting that he fought his fight with "grace."

Keith was an icon in the country scene and was known for hits such as "As Good As I Once Was," "Should've Been a Cowboy," and several others.

According to a message shared by Keith's family on his official Facebook page, the singer passed away on February 5. In the statement, they alluded to Keith's death from his battle with stomach cancer, noting that he fought the disease with "grace and courage."

They said, "Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family at this time."

Keith first opened up about his stomach cancer diagnosis in 2022 in a message shared on his Instagram page.

The singer said at the time, "Last fall, I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I've spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation, and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover, and relax. I am looking forward to spending time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can't wait."

At the time, the star postponed all his shows, with his publicist revealing that he wouldn't be in any performances while undergoing treatment.

Shortly after his family shared the news of his death, Keith's fans and friends flooded his comments with tributes to his legacy and condolence messages to his family.

One comment read, "We lost not only a country music legend last night, but we lost a true American Patriot as well. A wonderful example of a man of dignity: a married man of 40 years who raised his beautiful kids and put family right up there at the top. He LOVED this country SO much and in every single song, that love for this country shined through."

The message continued, "A man who will NEVER be forgotten, yet ALWAYS be missed. My heart goes out to his wife, his children, immediate & extended family, friends & to the fellow country music community. We lost one of the rare good ones. Rest Easy, Toby."

A second person wrote, "Heartbreaking news. Praying for his family. Thanks Toby for being a bada-- and someone a singer like me could look up to. RIP big dawg!"

"Rest in peace, legend. We should all have a drink in our red solo cups to remember how amazing he was. Fly high; we will remember you forever," another individual stated.
