TikTok Food Critic Keith Lee's Inspiring Journey Lands Him NAACP Nomination

Popular TikTok food reviewer Keith Lee's journey has been a non-stop whirlwind of inspiration, gratitude, and excitement.

To add to his many accomplishments, the content creator was recently nominated for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Social Media Personality of the Year!

The NAACP released the full list of the 55th NAACP Image Awards nominees on Thursday and Lee made the list! Voting is currently open and winners will be revealed during a live TV special airing on March 16, 2024 at 8 p.m. on BET and CBS.

Lee was nominated in the category of Outstanding Social Media Personality of the Year along with Angel Laketa Moore, Druski, Lynae Vanee, and Terrell Grice.

According to the NAACP's website:

Lee shared a video on his Instagram page to announce the exciting nomination. It was captioned:

"Well this happened today….God Is Amazing ??congratulations to everyone else nominated and mama we making it it ?i appreciate every last person on this journey with me ?? God Bless You ??."

Nearly 50,000 people liked the announcement so far and many took to the comment section to share their support.

"You’re going to win. Cause ain’t no way anyone else on social has impacted real lives and businesses more than you brother. Get that speech ready," one person wrote. Another added, "Good things happen to good people! Keep being a light in a dark world!"

Many others commented, "Well deserved" and "Congratulations" for the TikToker who's been changing lives with his food reviews and content for the past few years.

The next stop on the Keith Lee and Family Food Tour is here! Lee recently announced some changes to his food tour in a video on TikTok.

"I've always said, this food tour is the very beginning and it's a trial and a test for bigger things," he said. "Over a span of seven months, we've been to a total of about ten cities. And I'm not oblivious to criticism. I realize that the last two spots, I didn't have the best experience. And I 100-percent take credit that there's growth that could be had on my end. With that being said, me and my team have had multiple conversations."

One improvement that Lee plans to implement into his food tour is having categories. Lee is adding three categories of restaurants that they go to.

"One being our target audience, which is restaurants that have great food, great customer service, but could use the marketing," he continued. "Two being local favorites that highlight the food scene in each city, voted on directly by the locals. And we're gonna pick those restaurants by having a poll open on my IG Story so the locals in each city can pick the restaurants that we go to in that category."

Lee feels that should "diminish" some of the comments people make about not going to the right spots.

The third category will be restaurants from "different backgrounds, different cultures, and different ethnicities."

"So that way, the spots that we go to in each city are more diverse," he said. "So without further ado, the next city on the Keith Lee and Family Food Tour - Dallas, Texas."

Many followers dropped suggestions of what restaurants to visit while Lee is in Dallas into the comments, and others just expressed their excitement to see the reviews and a better experience in this city than in some previously visited places.
