King Charles III will reportedly be admitted to a hospital next week as he seeks treatment for an enlarged prostate.

An announcement from Buckingham Palace revealed that the king's condition is "benign" and that he requires a "corrective procedure."

News of Charles' medical issue comes shortly after it was revealed that the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has been hospitalized after undergoing abdominal surgery.

On Wednesday, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III will be admitted to a hospital over an "enlarged prostate."

The statement read, "In common with thousands of men each year, The King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty's condition is benign, and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure."

"The King's public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation," the statement concluded.

According to PeopleMagazine, King Charles' reason for sharing his health condition was to motivate men who might be having symptoms to seek medical attention.

The announcement about King Charles's "enlarged prostate" comes shortly after it was revealed that his daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, had been hospitalized after undergoing abdominal surgery.

Kensington Palace revealed that the 42-year-old had a "planned abdominal surgery" at the London clinic on Tuesday.

Due to the operation, Kate had been hospitalized amid her recovery. The princess will also not be able to attend to her royal duties until after Easter.

"The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in the hospital for ten to fourteen days before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter," the statement from the palace read.

It continued, "The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private. Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness' progress when there is significant new information to share."

The palace also noted that Princess Kate "wishes to apologize to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible."

Kate's surgery was reportedly a "non-cancerous" issue. After her hospital discharge, She is expected to recuperate at her Windsor home, which she has lived in since 2022, with her husband, Prince William, and their kids, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
