Jackson Mahomes, younger brother of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, gained a massive milestone in the sexual assault case filed against him by a restaurant owner.
The media personality was accused of non-consensual misconduct by a woman named Aspen Vaughn, an incident that allegedly occurred in February 2023. Since the lawsuit surfaced, Jackson's lawyer had actively advocated his innocence, and a judge recently ruled in his favor.
Jackson Mahomes' Lawyer Says They Had 'Full Confidence' That The Truth Will Be Revealed
The sexual misdemeanor allegations against the NFL star's brother saw him facing three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one misdemeanor battery charge. However, the three felony charges against Jackson were dismissed by a judge in a recent hearing.
The motion to drop these charges was filed by the Johnson County Assistant District Attorney Megan Ahsens on Tuesday, January 2. While Jackson no longer has to worry about the felony counts, his misdemeanor battery charge remains.
The charges were filed against him through the Johnson County District Attorney's Office for allegedly assaulting the female victim. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback's younger sibling was accused of grabbing Vaughn by her neck and kissing her against her will on February 25, 2023.
The alleged crime occurred in the woman's Aspens Restaurant and Lounge business in Overland Park, a suburb part of Kansas City. According to reports, investigators claimed Jackson pushed a waiter who attempted to access the room he was in with Vaughn.

After chasing the waiter away, he grabbed Vaughn and reportedly kissed her three times without consent. In her conversation with authorities, the restaurant owner described Jackson as her step-daughter's friend and noted he had once been asked to leave her establishment.
Despite the scary picture painted by prosecutors, they had to drop the three counts of aggravated sexual battery against Jackson following an affidavit from Vaughn's attorneys. The alleged victim refused to testify in the case, leaving only the misdemeanor charge for allegedly shoving the waiter.
A jury trial relating to this battery count will occur on March 25; however, Jackson's attorney believes everything will work out in his client's favor. Per ET, Brandan Davies raved about his confidence in winning the case in a statement, declaring:
"Like I said from the beginning, Jackson has done nothing wrong. We had full confidence that the truth of the matter would ultimately be revealed. The defense will reserve further comment until the remaining count is disposed of."
As for Vaughn, her business closed last August following the negative attention generated by the sexual assault case. Many seemed to support Jackson as the restaurant was reportedly vandalized after the quarterback's brother received his now-dismissed charges.
All About Patrick Mahomes' Younger Brother
While Patrick is famous in the NFL world as a renowned quarterback, his younger brother, Jackson, is well-known as a social media personality. The 23-year-old has over a million followers on TikTok, where he frequently documents his sibling's games and does dance trends.

He also has a significant following on social media platforms like Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube. When he isn't documenting his life, he raves about his older brother and their close relationship. Jackson once addressed their brotherhood in a May 2020 YouTube clip, saying:
"It's just like being related to anybody else. He's a cool person, like we're super close. We have a great relationship, so I think that's pretty cool."
Jackson's feelings aren't one-sided, as the brothers have flaunted their bond on various occasions, including at Patrick's wedding to Brittany Matthews on March 12, 2022. The lovebirds tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Maui, with the younger sibling serving as his brother's best man.
Surprisingly, the brothers did not have a close bond while growing up in Texas with their parents. Jackson noted in a 2018 interview that the pair did not develop their strong friendship until Patrick left for college. The quarterback echoed similar sentiments, joking: "He's not as annoying anymore now that he's grown up a little bit."
While Jackson seems to have it good, he has also gained quite the infamous reputation for controversies. Before his sexual assault allegations, he made waves in September 2021 for pouring water on a Baltimore Ravens fan following a Chiefs loss at Maryland's M&T Bank Stadium.
The video of his actions went viral, but the 23-year-old showed no remorse, tweeting, "They were thirsty." However, Patrick defended him, claiming the fan-made unflattering comments about him and his then-fiancée before his younger brother retaliated.
