Jane Carter Has Taken Over As Bobbie Jean Carter's Eight-Year-Old Daughter's Caretaker
While the Carters continue dealing with the loss of their beloved family member, Jane has swooped in for Bella. Information received from various sources within the Carter clan indicates that she will now be the primary caretaker of the eight-year-old.
Bobbie Jean, who is the sister of Nick and Aaron Carter, is said to have passed away at the age of 41 on Saturday, December 23. The family suspects she experienced cardiac arrest at home, though specific details leading to her death remain unknown.
Bobbie Jean's untimely death becomes the third tragedy for the Carter family, following Aaron's death at 34 in November 2022 and Leslie's death at 25 in January 2012. Expressing shock and grief, Jane disclosed that her daughter's passing has left Bella without both her mother and father. She penned in her statement:
"I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time. [H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater."
The matriarch continued, "So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother. When I am able to think clearly, I'll release a fuller statement, but until then, I would request to be left to grieve in private."
Bobbie Jean's younger sister — and Aaron's twin sister, Angel Carter Conrad, equally shared an emotional farewell via Instagram on December 24, writing:
"To my older sister Bobbie. You had a great sense of humor, and a lively spirit. Growing up, I was your baby, and you were my best friend. Life wasn't fair to you, that I know. Sometimes, it feels like you didn't have a shot, no matter what. I know why Leslie, Aaron, and now you ended up in the circumstances that you did."
The 36-year-old added, "I share that pain we experienced during our childhood and I'm sorry you didn't have an opportunity for a better life. The generational dysfunction stops now. I love you BJ, you're free now."
Bobbie Struggled With Personal Challenges
Before her death, Bobbie Jean struggled with personal challenges, including documented struggles with addiction and substance abuse. Her life occasionally unfolded in the public eye, notably with a June arrest for alleged theft from a Hobby Lobby in Brookfield, Florida, along with drug-related accusations.
Despite these challenges, she contributed to her family's reality television series, "House of Carters," and worked behind the scenes as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist for Aaron's tours in the early 2000s.

The case reportedly contained 0.8 grams of purple powder and 1.3 grams of white powder, with subsequent field testing allegedly confirming the presence of fentanyl in the purple powder.
Following this discovery, Bobbie Jean was reportedly taken into custody and promptly put on suicide watch due to alleged threats to "kill" herself made during her journey to jail.
