Vin Diesel is being slammed online over an old interview that resurfaced amid scathing allegations of sexual assault made against him by a former assistant named Asta Jonasson. Diesel has since refuted the allegations, calling them "outlandish."
Now, Diesel is being branded "creepy" for being overly "flirty" and crawling on his knees toward a Brazilian YouTuber during an interview to promote his 2017 film, "XXX: The Return of Zander Cage."
Vin Diesel's Old Interview Resurfaces Amid Sexual Assault Allegations
Diesel is currently in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Immediately after a shocking sexual assault lawsuit was brought against him by an ex-assistant, a video clip from an old interview featuring Diesel and YouTube star Carol Moreira was reposted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The interview from 2017 showed Diesel being very flirty with Moreira, whom he describes as "the most gorgeous girl in Brazil."
In the clip, the actor said, "God, you're so beautiful, you're so beautiful, man, am I right or wrong?" while turning around to address crew members behind the camera.
He then added, "How am I supposed to do this interview?" to which a shy-looking Moreira responded, "Thank You."
Diesel proceeded to shower his interviewer with compliments, declaring, "She's so beautiful. Let's get out of here, let's go have lunch. My god, I love her. Look how beautiful she is. God, I love her. Wow."
I gotta say, I’ve always had a weird feeling about Vin Diesel since I saw this video years back.
While disappointing, I can’t say that the news surrounding him rn is all that surprising. pic.twitter.com/rpGKPHnujB

Moreira, in an attempt to change the subject, asked the star to say "I Am Groot" in Portuguese, but after saying his catchphrase, the actor swiftly continued with his praise of the YouTuber.
Things took an awkward turn when the actor dropped to his knees and crawled toward Moreira, who appeared to be uncomfortable, saying, "She's so f------ beautiful it's like, you can't even do an interview with her."
The actor eventually stood up and said, "Oh my God, someone save me. When did this turn into a beautiful world? When did this turn into the most gorgeous girl in Brazil? When did this turn into I love you?"
Moreira, for her part, kept saying, "Thank you very much," until the interview was over.
Viewers Brand Vin Diesel 'Creepy' & 'Unprofessional'
It didn't take long for the video clip to go viral on the social media platform X, with many users slamming the actor for his "creepy" behavior.
One person wrote, "This is so f------ creepy holy s---," with another stating, "Yup. That video turned me right off of him. Disrespectful, unprofessional, and predatory."
A third user alleged that the actor was drunk in the clip, writing, "I think it was confirmed that he went into the interview intoxicated."
A fourth said, "Ugh not even a minute in and I'm already cringing, it's like he forgot he was getting interviewed."
"D--- she looks so uncomfortable I'm uncomfortable just watching it," a fifth person noted. Another wrote, "At the end, she looked uncomfortable! That scared face near the end."
The Actor Was Accused Of Sexual Assault
The video clip comes after a sexual assault lawsuit was filed against Diesel by his former assistant. The woman, identified as Asta Jonasson, accused the actor of groping and kissing her while alone in a hotel suite in 2010.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Jonasson claimed she "struggled continually to break free of his grasp while repeatedly saying no."
Jonasson was responsible for "organizing parties and catering to Vin Diesel's demands, including staying in close physical proximity to" the actor.
The lawsuit describes in vivid detail how an allegedly unrelenting Diesel followed Jonasson into the suite's bathroom and proceeded to pleasure himself "while leaning against Ms. Jonasson and keeping her pinned to the wall with the left side of his body."
When the star was done with the alleged deed, Jonasson claims he turned on the sink in the bathroom, and, on his way out, said to her, "No one can say s— about Asta."
Jonasson is also suing the actor's sister, Samantha Vincent, the president of One Race company, for firing her immediately after the incident.
She is now requesting that the court grant her "compensatory damages and other special and general damages," including "lost earnings, salary, bonuses, and other job benefits" she would have received if it weren't for the alleged assault.
Vin Diesel Refutes Sexual Assault Allegations
Diesel has since addressed the sexual assault lawsuit brought against him in a statement through his lawyer, Bryan Freedman. The lawyer called the allegations false and claimed that there was proof of the actor's innocence.
Freedman said, "Let me be very clear Vin Diesel categorically denies this claim in its entirety. This is the first he has ever heard about this more than 13-year-old claim made by a purportedly nine-day employee."
"There is clear evidence which completely refutes these outlandish allegations," he added, per Deadline.
