Jason Kelce, center for the Philadelphia Eagles, is blaming himself for the loss on Monday after he got a false start penalty called on him.

The Eagles lost 17-20 to the Seattle Seahawks, which Kelce says his false start penalty played a role in.

The NFL player revealed that referees have "been warning me of that for years," referencing the false start penalty.

"I had a tendency to do that in the past, so they've definitely warned me before," the Eagles center explained to after the Monday night loss.

Jason Kelce Says He Has 'Got To Be Smarter'

"I've got to be smarter, especially in that situation," Kelce told reporters in the locker room, adding that because it was third-and-short, the officials did not want him to advance the ball at all, which is why they called the penalty.

"I think if that's a full yard to gain, probably not as much, but because it was so short, if I move it forward at all, it's going to be called, and I've just got to be smarter than that," he added.

Jason Kelce, who has been in the league since 2011, says his job as a veteran is to help the rest of his team focus.

"Your job as a veteran is to continue to push and work, and get guys focused on preparing and getting better, and blocking out a lot of the outside stuff," Kelce shared.

Jalen Hurts, Eagles quarterback, is not just blaming Jason Kelce, but is blaming the entire team for a lack of execution and overall commitment.

"I've been talking about execution all year, being on the same page, everyone being on the same page," Hurts said following Monday's loss. "We didn't execute. I don't think we're, we're all, we're committed enough. Just got to turn it around. You know, it's a challenge that we have to embrace. Just continue to see it through."

When asked to be more specific, Hurts said, "Commitment. I don't have a dictionary on me now. ... I don't know how else to say that."

"It's a matter of being on the same page," Hurts told reports after the game. "It takes everyone being all in, in all aspects. And it starts with me. There's multiple opportunities out there. In the end, there's just not another way you'd have it. The trust that we have in one another, how much we communicate as players. ... We just have to be better; I have to be better. Minimize the mistakes, the penalties, the mental errors. Play team football and it starts with me leading that. We've lost games because I can be better. That will change everything, and I accept that."

The NFL quarterback blamed himself as well, adding, "Everyone has their role in it. It starts with me. We've got to pick ourselves out of this. ... We have to make an internal change in how we attack things. How we come to work every day. It starts with the little things, [and] how committed we are to doing what we're doing. And it all starts with me, the quarterback."

"It's a challenge I'm embracing. As challenging as these times are, I still see light at the end of the tunnel. Just a matter of believing," he continued.
