There were a lot of things that happened throughout the NFL this Sunday, both on and off the field. It's actually rather unfortunate that a lot of the story lines have been overshadowed by the Antonio Brown incident that saw him take off his uniform mid-game and run off the field.

One of the story lines that was certainly overshadowed was what happened at the Washington Football Team's FedEx Field. The events that occurred could've certainly ended up in disaster real quickly. One of the people that was right in the thick of things in Landover Maryland over the weekend was Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. He wants to make sure that the situation isn't just swept under the rug. People could've been seriously hurt, and yet there has been no noteworthy response from anyone involved.

If you're just tuning into this story here's a quick recap of how things went down. The Philadelphia Eagles, and the Washington Football Team squared off at FedEx Field, in a game that had heavy playoff implications. Long story short, the Eagles would go on to win in a nail bitter that came down to a last minute interception. When Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was coming off the field emotions were still running high and fans who made the trip from Philly wanted to get close to their quarterback as he ran into the dressing room.

Unfortunately, these fans got way too close for comfort. Eagles fans reached down into the tunnel to try and get an autograph or a handshake from Jalen Hurts. Something that is seen every Sunday across the league. Only this time, the railing gave way sending the fans tumbling down onto the tunnel and onto Jalen Hurts himself!

Thankfully, it seems that there are no major injuries to report after the incident. As can be seen in the video though the situation could've gone south fairly quickly. On the bright side of things the confused fans at least got to take a picture with the Eagles quarterback and went home with a heck of a story to tell. That's not nearly enough for Jalen Hurts though. The former Alabama and Oklahoma player sent an open letter out today asking for someone to take responsibility of the situation. As we've mentioned at the time of writing of this article, there have been no major announcements made on the matter by local authorities, the NFL or the Washington Football Team.

In his open letter Jalen Hurts details his reaction to the incident. Saying that although displayed a calm composure he understood the severity of what had happened and was concerned for the safety of the fans and the media. The quarterback outright wants to know, "what follow-up action is being considered". In the letter he also mentions,

"I would like to know what safeguards the NFL and the Washington Football Team are implementing to prevent this from ever occurring in the future."

This incident is sadly not the first time that debris falls on fans at FedEx Field. It is however the first time fans fall along with the debris! This is certainly an issue that needs to be addressed.
