Mama June's Daughter Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell Dies Following Cancer Battle

Reality TV Star Mama June has reportedly lost her daughter, Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell, following her battle with cancer.

June, who recently relocated to Georgia to help take care of Cardwell, shared the sad news of her daughter's passing due to complications from her stage 4 adrenal carcinoma.

Cardwell was June's eldest daughter and had appeared on her family's various reality TV shows.

June broke the news of Cardwell's death on Instagram, noting how heartbroken her family was. Cardwell had been battling the severe illness following her stage 4 cancer diagnosis early this year.

"With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM," June wrote.

She continued, "She gave one h--- of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won't and we will be updating y'all with more information as we get it today. We love y'all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family [during] this difficult time."

June's heartbreaking post on Instagram was accompanied by an image of Cardwell surrounded by her family members. The post was quickly flooded with comments from fans sympathizing with the grieving family.

A few months ago, June revealed she had made plans to move back to Georgia to care for her ailing daughter. June, known for appearing on the hit reality TV show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," shared the news during a chat with the US Sun, stating that she'll be relocating alongside her husband, Justin Stroud.

"We are leaving Alabama," she told the news outlet. "I'm in the process of leaving Alabama now, and I'm in the final steps of my legal issues, so we'll be going back to Georgia."

At the time, June shared her desire to move back to Georgia, where her family previously resided, citing the need to provide the best care and support for Cardwell.

In a sad turn of events earlier this year, Cardwell was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She and her mother didn't have much of a relationship but were working on patching things up before her diagnosis of stage 4 adrenal carcinoma.

The mother-daughter bond reportedly broke down about two years ago when June began dating McDaniel, which Cardwell didn't approve of. June has since broken up with McDaniel and is now married to Justin Stroud, who relocated with her to Georgia.

"June and Anna were slowly working on building back their relationship about a year ago, but Anna's recent stage 4 adrenal carcinoma diagnosis has rapidly brought the pair even closer," an insider told Page Six at the time.

Following June's heartbreaking update on her daughter Cardwell, fans quickly took to the comment section to sympathize with the family.

"I am so sorry for your loss… I don't even know what to say. Praying so hard for your family at this time. Anna will be remembered forever," a fan wrote.

Another stated, "Most of us watched Anna grow watching [on] 'Here comes honey boo boo'... I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a child is the worst thing anyone could ever go through. June we all love you and your crew. Rest In Peace Anna."

A third person noted, "Oh no! I'm so so sorry for your loss! My heart breaks for her babies. She was so young poor thing. I'm so sorry you guys. My heart goes out to everyone right now. Stay strong. Xoxo."

"Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers — may you all be covered in love and light, and may Anna rest peacefully," wrote a fourth fan.

Besides her mother and sisters, Cardwell is also survived by her daughters Kaitlyn Elizabeth and Kylee Madison.
