Mama June Relocating To Georgia Amid Daughter Anna's Cancer Treatment

Reality TV star June "Mama June" Shannon has divulged her plans to move back to Georgia with her husband, Justin Stroud, to support her daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell amid her ongoing battle with stage 4 cancer.

Mama June shared that she's in the process of clearing her 2019 felony drug possession legal issues and will be leaving Alabama soon.

She recently attended her daughter Alana "Honey boo boo" Thompson's graduation from high school and shared what she was of her.

In a heartfelt revelation, reality television star Mama June, 43, has announced her decision to relocate from Alabama to Georgia to be closer to her daughter, Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, battling stage 4 cancer.

Mama June, known for appearing on the hit reality TV show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," shared the news during an interview with the US Sun, noting that she'll be relocating alongside her husband, Justin Stroud.

"We are leaving Alabama," she said. "I'm in the process of leaving Alabama now, and I'm in the final steps of my legal issues, so we'll be going back to Georgia."

During the interview, Mama June shared her decision to move back to Georgia, where the family previously resided, citing her desire to provide the best care and support for Anna.

In a devastating turn of events earlier this year, Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, the eldest daughter of Mama June, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Cardwell and Mama June didn't have much of a relationship and were reportedly working on it before she was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma.

The mother-daughter bond broke down about two years ago when Mama June dated McDaniel in 2021, which Cardwell didn't approve of, but their relationship has grown to a better place over the years. Mama June has since broken up with him and is now married to Justin Stroud, who will relocate to Georgia with her.

"June and Anna were slowly working on building back their relationship about a year ago, but Anna's recent stage 4 adrenal carcinoma diagnosis has rapidly brought the pair even closer," a source said, per Page Six.

Mama June, for her part, said that the relationship with her long-estranged daughter had been a work in progress but couldn't be compared to when she got diagnosed with cancer.

"The relationship with Anna was working before she discovered she had cancer," she said. "It didn't just miraculously start working like what Anna had cancer, you know, to make that clear with everybody."

Mama June recently opened up about her health challenges one year after being hospitalized for a mystery illness. She was finding it hard to get the "right" doctor to take her seriously.

"I'm getting tired of having severe headaches and not being able to think, I'm getting tired of forgetting things, I'm getting tired of being dizzy and unable to see straight," she said.

The "Mama June Crisis" star added that she finds it difficult to find a doctor who believes that she's genuinely sick because "all the tests are all coming back kind of normal" and her history with addiction.

She tells the doctors, "'Hey, I'm recovering. I've been in recovery and been sober for three years,' and that for them throws up that judgmental card, and they seem to be like: 'Oh well, you have to be honest about your symptoms.'"

"I'm getting tired of all this like 'the tests are coming back normal,' let's figure it out! Let's run more tests or run more blood work. Let's figure out deeply what's going on," she added.

It was a time of celebration for Mama June and her family as they came together to honor a significant milestone in the life of her daughter, Alana Thompson, better known as "Honey Boo Boo." The reality TV star took to social media to share her joy and pride as Thompson graduated from high school, marking an important achievement in the young star's life.

Thompson first gained widespread recognition as a child pageant contestant on the reality show "Toddlers & Tiaras" and later became a household name through the spin-off series "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." Despite growing up in the public eye, she has managed to navigate the challenges of fame and stay focused on her education.
