Tiffany Haddish Faces DUI Charge After Allegedly Being Caught Asleep In Car

Hollywood actress Tiffany Haddish is reportedly facing DUI charges for allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel of her car.

Haddish was seen handcuffed by Beverly Hills police officers early Friday morning. The incident came to light via a phone call from a concerned individual who saw Haddish slumped inside her car.

According to a report, Haddish was seen behind the wheels of her car, slumped over with the engine running. 

Although she was not involved in an accident, an unknown individual called the police around 5:45 am to report the sighting, as her car was spotted at a halt in the middle of Beverly Drive.

On arriving at the scene, Haddish was handcuffed by Beverly Hills officers and taken to the police station. The actress did not resist arrest and will reportedly be released later today. She will also be cited for a DUI.

Prior to the shocking incident, Haddish was at The Laugh Factory in West Hollywood on Thursday night, where she had performed for the club's 43rd annual Thanksgiving feast, a free event for the community.

This isn't the first time Haddish has been charged with DUI, as she found herself in a similar situation last year in January in Atlanta.

At the time, Peachtree City police had also reportedly received a phone call about a person seen sleeping in their car.

On getting to the location, the officers found the actress driving into the neighborhood. Haddish was charged with a DUI and improper stopping on the roadway.

According to legal documents, the actress is set to appear in court for that case on December 4.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Haddish got candid about her attempts to birth a child. The actress recalled her conversation with a nurse that she recently had her eighth miscarriage. She said, "Well, I'm going to be honest with you, this would be my eighth [miscarriage]."

"I've got a uterus shaped like a heart. It just won't keep anything in," the actress added.

Haddish shared that she's kept all her miscarriages private because she doesn't want people worrying unnecessarily about her. She stated, "Like a wounded animal, I just rather go in a cave by myself. Lick my wounds."

In her interview with the publication, Haddish also talked about her breakup with rapper Common. She slammed her ex-boyfriend for calling their breakup a "mutual" decision.

Haddish said, "It was more him saying, 'I think this relationship has run its course.' And I was like, 'OK. Like, you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. OK?'"

The actress claimed Common had begun icing her out of events before ending their relationship, including his birthday party in 2021.

Despite their split, she admitted that her time with Common was the "safest out of all the relationships [she's] ever had."

Haddish said she learned a lot from their time together and called their romance "the healthiest [and] the funnest."

Since their breakup, Haddish said she's stayed "positive" and is waiting for a "partner to experience [life] with." However, she added, "But also, I guess I’ve been alone for so long. And so used to being abandoned, I expect it. Which is sad, right?"
