During her WaPo interview, Haddish also discussed her breakup with rapper Common two years ago. The actress called her ex-boyfriend out for saying their split was a "mutual" decision.

She said, "It was more him saying, 'I think this relationship has run its course.' And I was like, 'OK. Like, you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. OK?'"

Haddish claimed that Common had begun icing her out of events before he ended their relationship, including his birthday party that year.

Despite their messy split, Haddish has said her time with Common was the "safest out of all the relationships [she's] ever had." She said they had "the healthiest [and] the funnest" romance and had learned a lot from their time.
