“Shondaland is not pursuing this project,” a spokesperson for her company told the outlet. Regardless, the early adaptation is still in the early stages and bids continue to pour in. One insider said that the project is “only beginning to take shape.”

The source also echoed that Britney had recently rescheduled a meeting with an unnamed top producer “at the last minute” because she “didn’t feel up to it.”

A producer who previously worked with the Princess of Pop told the outlet that Britney “doesn’t give a s— who you are,” adding, “She’s always been that way. It’s just Britney.” However, producers are reportedly “extremely compassionate” to the Princess of Pop and are waiting to tell her story on her own terms.

Britney Reflects On The 'Sad Stories' In 'The Woman In Me'

Although she has been celebrating the success of her tell-all memoir on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, the “Lucky” singer has been a lot more candid with her followers on Instagram. Last week, the pop star shared a few behind-the-scenes photos of a wardrobe fitting from her “Overprotected” music video, previously shared by director Chris Applebaum.

“My book has a lot of sad stories and drama in it … I’m sure some are aware of that but just know there are tons of other beautiful and good stories in #TheWomanInMe but that’s not what the media decides to pick up all the time !!!” Britney wrote in the caption. “It is what it is … so going forward just know that was me then … that’s the past and this is me now !!! To the good stuff and a little nasty too 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️📖 !!!”

She wrapped up her post by addressing the photos of her wardrobe fitting, writing, “Psss throwback to when they wanted me in my pajamas for the Overprotected video but I said … please that’s too sweet, give me some d--- clothes 😂👗😳 !!! Swipe to see clothes !!!”

Britney Spears' memoir "The Woman In Me" was officially released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
