Former child star Evan Ellingson's family member is speaking out on his death amid investigations into his cause of death.
Ellingson's sister-in-law issued a statement saying the actor was "committed to sobriety" and had been sober for over three years.
But, she slammed doctors for "handing it to him" and accused them of getting Ellingson hooked back on drugs following a dental procedure.
Evan Ellingson's Family Member Reveals Cause Of Death
Following news of Ellingson's death, law enforcement revealed to The Blast that the unfortunate incident was being investigated as a possible overdose.
"We are conducting a death investigation, so all avenues are being considered. Since it's not a Homicide, one likely cause that detectives have to consider is an overdose," The Fontana Police Department said at the time.
Now, one of Ellingson's family members has come out confirming the cause of death and accusing doctors of getting the late actor hooked on opiates.
President of In-N-Out Burger, Lynsi Snyder, is the sister-in-law of Ellington and accuses doctors of handing her brother-in-law opiates after a tooth extraction.
"Evan was committed to his sobriety and didn't just turn back to drugs, rather they were handed to him as a prescriptive remedy following a tooth extraction," Snyder claimed.
She continued, "These opiates are so addictive and they re-opened the door to his past. Doctors love handing out opioids and it sickens me."
'Drug Paraphernalia' Was Found At The Scene Of Evan Ellingson's Death
As we previously reported, law enforcement found Ellingson surrounded by "drug paraphernalia," likely the opiates his sister-in-law claims were given to him after a tooth extraction. The actor was staying at a sober living home at the time of his death.
Ellingson's sister-in-law noted how he strived to stay sober and said his family would fight for justice.
She said, "Evan battled addiction most of his life. Over the last nine years, he had great victories and was even sober for the past three years. During that time, he grew so close to Jesus and ministered to so many. He helped countless individuals by sharing his journey of recovery, and he was passionate about pointing individuals to resources for help."
"We are at war against this epidemic. Evan, we will fight a thousand times harder for you. You would want to save other families from this pain and loss. We will honor you and your story will be heard," Snyder declared.
At the moment, investigations are on hold pending the complete reports on his autopsy and toxicology.
Abigail Breslin Pays Tribute To Her Former Co-Star Evan Ellingson
Ellingson starred alongside actress Abigail Breslin in the 2009 movie, "My Sister's Keeper." The pair played siblings in the drama film.
Following his death, Breslin took to social media to pay tribute to her former co-star.
She started, "Evan Ellingson was a kind, funny and extremely talented human being. He played my big brother in a film I did called My Sisters Keeper. Evan was a genuinely thoughtful person who cared so much about turning in the best performance, which he accomplished."
Breslin fondly remembered how much of a prankster Ellingson was, calling him "silly," "funny," and a "lover of Red Bull." She admitted that although they didn't stay in touch after working together, he always stayed in her "mind as a wonderful and sweet soul."
The "August: Osage County" actress added, "Evan, I know Heaven will welcome you with open arms. Your time on this earth may have been, devastatingly, short. Your humor, exuberance, kindness and bright light will linger forever. Sending you peace on your journey to the great beyond and who knows… maybe one day, I’ll meet you in Montana."
Rest in peace, Evan Ellingson.
