Former child star Evan Ellingson's death is being investigated as a possible overdose.

According to law enforcement, the 35-year-old actor's tragic death is being considered an overdose, considering the manner and items found near his body at the time of his passing.

"We are conducting a death investigation, so all avenues are being considered. Since it’s not a Homicide, one likely cause that detectives have to consider is an overdose. We will have to wait until the Coroner is done with their toxicology report to confirm further, " The Fontana Police Department told The Blast.

It should be noted, that initial reports revealed "drug paraphernalia" was found at the scene. That combined with the fact that Ellington was living in a sober living home, is why officers are considering an overdose as the cause of the death. As in every case like this one, investigators will wait until they get the full autopsy and toxicology reports to make a final determination for the cause of death.

As we reported, on November 5, 2023, officers got a call to assist paramedics with a medical call. At the time, the San Bernardino County Fire Department was reporting a deceased person.

"SBCFD had previously responded to the location for a subject not breathing and upon arrival, they requested our assistance. Once on scene, a 35-year-old white male was found deceased in his bedroom. His pronounced time of death was 1137 hours. There were no obvious signs of foul play," they said.

The actor, who got his start at 13 on the soap opera “General Hospital,” hadn’t performed in over 10 years.

In 2009, he starred in “My Sister’s Keeper” alongside Cameron Diaz, Alec Baldwin and Abigail Breslin.

Breslin broke her silence on the death, saying, "Evan Ellingson was a kind, funny, and extremely talented human being. He played my big brother in a film I did called My Sisters Keeper. Evan was a genuinely thoughtful person who cared so much about turning in the best performance, which he accomplished. Some of his scenes in MSK still give me chills. He was also silly, funny, a prankster, a lover of Red Bull (I hated the smell of Red Bull ?) and he was energetic and the life of the party."

She continued, "I didn’t keep in touch a lot with him after the film, but he always stayed in my mind as a wonderful and sweet soul, one I am grateful to have crossed paths with. My prayers and condolences are with his family at this difficult time."

Adding, "Evan, I know Heaven will welcome you with open arms. Your time on this earth may have been, devastatingly, short. Your humor, exuberance, kindness, and bright light will linger forever. Sending you peace on your journey to the great beyond and who knows… maybe one day, I’ll meet you in Montana."

The death is still under investigation.
