Tom Hanks' Son Chet Hanks Reportedly Faces Off With Alleged Burglar With His Fists

In a surprising twist, the "Greyhound" actor reportedly found himself face-to-face with an intruder attempting to break into his home early Monday morning. Channeling his inner defender, he resorted to using his bare fists to confront the suspect.

According to local law enforcement sources, before the authorities arrived, the son of Hollywood icons Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson allegedly delivered a powerful punch to thwart the break-in.

However, the ordeal took an unexpected turn when L.A. County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, attempting to apprehend the 42-year-old intruder. A struggle ensued, which unfortunately resulted in one deputy sustaining a broken leg during the arrest.

TMZ reported that both the suspect and the injured officer were transported to the hospital for treatment. At the same time, Hanks reportedly emerged physically unscathed from the incident

The outlet also mentioned that the alleged thief now faces charges of burglary, with the case set to be forwarded to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office for further consideration.

For the "Empire" actor, this impromptu home invasion has no doubt interrupted his recent streak of self-reflection. Fans will recall that in April, he shared a motivational message on his Instagram, notably steering away from his mock Jamaican accent.

Dressed casually in a backward hat and sunglasses, he encouraged his 534 thousand fans to engage in introspective walks or hikes, emphasizing the importance of self-talk.

The "Shameless" star also pointed to the impact of mindset and self-talk, reminding his fans that these elements played a crucial role in shaping one's perspective. In his words, "Everything is how we talk to ourselves. Our self-talk and our mindset are everything."
