Pop star Britney Spears is back at the top of the charts... although this time, it's not due to her music.
Her tell-all memoir "The Woman In Me" is officially a #1 NY Times bestseller a little over a week since it was officially released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

When the Princess of Pop was first getting started in her career and releasing hits like "...Baby One More Time" and "Toxic," no one would have ever expected her to one day become a best-selling author. However, that was the case on Wednesday, November 1, when she took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express her excitement for the success of her bestselling memoir, which is sure to become an award winner.
"Thank you to all the fans who made #TheWomanInMe a #1 @nytimes bestseller 🤯 … it means the world to me !!! Love you all 💋💋💋 !!!" she wrote in the caption, reminding fans exactly where to go in order to pick up their copy if they haven't already.

Last Wednesday, only one day after it was released, the "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer revealed that her book had become the highest-selling celebrity memoir in history due to the sheer amount of preorders.
"It’s happening ✨🤓📖 !!! My book is the highest-selling celebrity memoir in history and it’s only day 1 !!! Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive !!! Love you all 🌹 !!!" she wrote in the caption, tagging the publisher, Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster.
Although the "Girl In The Mirror" singer has been floored by the success of her book, she admitted that she does not like some of the headlines that she has been reading about her memoir. She took to X shortly before her memoir was released to assure her fans that she has "moved on" from some of the events in the book and is looking forward to a "clean slate."

A few days before her memoir was released, the "Crossroads" actress took to social media to remind her followers that she was never trying to "offend" anyone by writing about her life and insisted that she has "moved on."
“My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means !!! That was me then …that is in the past !!!” she began. “I don’t like the headlines I am reading …that’s exactly why I quit the business 4 years ago !!! Most of the book is from 20 years ago … I have moved on and it’s a beautiful clean slate from here !!!”
“I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life !!!” she continued. “Either way, that is the last of it and s— happens !! This is actually a book didn’t know needed to be written … although some might be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future !!!”
“Hopefully I can enlighten people who feel particularly alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood !!! Again, my motive for this book was not to harp on my past experiences which is what the press is doing and it’s dumb and silly !!!” she concluded. “I have moved on since then !! #TheWomaninMe.”
However, that has not stopped fans from calling out her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. Although the two dated from 1999 to 2002, Britney reflected on allegations of infidelity and even an unplanned pregnancy in her memoir, prompting fans to flood his Instagram page with negative comments. The backlash got so bad that the "Cry Me A River" singer shut down comments on his Instagram page and took off to vacation in Cabo for the time being.
