The "30 Rock" actor told Kelly Ripa on SiriusXM's Let's Talk Off Camera that he would love to eventually retire and be the star of his own reality show, similar to what the Kardashians and the Osbournes have done. The 65-year-old actor revealed that he barely broke event on a previous project because of how much money he had spent getting hotel rooms, plane tickets, and meals for his enormous family.

"In the old days I'd jump on a plane and go to LA and do a movie here or a few episodes of Will and Grace I did for a while," he said, as transcribed by the Daily Mail. "You know, different things like that. And it was easy to pick up and go. They don't even have, I need 12 plane tickets, you know, nannies, kids, my wife, I need like 11. They don't even have 11 seats in the business class section of the plane."

He recalled taking a work trip to Los Angeles four years ago, before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. "We'd be in a hotel and we always stayed in the same hotel 'cause it was the only hotel that could put four suites together, so we could all live together," he recalled. "And I would look at my wife and I go, 'You realize we're not gonna make a dime. We're not gonna make one cent.'"

He continued, "Here we are mashed potatoes, $20 room service, a diet Coke is $11. I said, 'You realize we're not gonna make a penny. The private plane, the hotel, the room service, we're gonna break even on this job I'm doing.'" He went on to say, "So everything we did and then... shows we have considered and pitches we've heard, and even one or two pitches we've made about our family and that reality show has all been so we could stay home and just work from home."

The actor revealed that he is "desperate to try to work from New York" in order to be closer to his family, even if it means allowing cameras inside his New York City home.

Kelly Ripa seemed to be completely on board with Alec's idea. "I think it's the smartest thing. It's a show I would so watch because you're very ensconced in the Hollywood world. You are a world-renowned actor," she said.

Although Alec and Hilaria seem all for it, it seems unclear how their children would feel. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, shares children Carmen, 10, Rafael, eight, Leonardo, six, Romeo, five, Eduardo and Lucia, both two, and one-year-old Ilaria. During the interview, he indicated that he wants to work less in order to spend time with his children as they grow up.

"I've been working less and less and less and I'm home and my wife and we wanna travel the world with the kids," he said. "I mean, I wanna show seven kids Rome and London and Paris and Madrid and blah, blah, blah. And we're thinking about that now, where we have a different life in terms of work. I really do think about, you know, I've kinda had enough, I mean, I've done this for a long time and I wanna have a private life."

On October 21, 2021, Alec Baldwin shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust" when a gun he was holding for a scene went off. Although Baldwin maintains that he never pulled the trigger, he was charged with involuntary manslaughter in January 2023. A few months later, those charges were dropped without prejudice, pending further investigation.

However, last month, prosecutors revealed that they are considering charging Baldwin again. If convicted, he could face up to 18 months in prison along with a fine of $5,000.

"Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who is also facing an additional charge of tampering with evidence, has pled not guilty. Her court date has been postponed to February 2024.
