Pop star Britney Spears shared a lot of details about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, in her new memoir, “The Woman In Me.”
Although the relationship was full of allegations of infidelity and an unplanned pregnancy, the tell-all book discusses many different aspects of their relationship over the years, including when they ran into each other at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards in 2007.
That being said, it always seems to come back to the allegations of cheating. In her memoir, Britney writes that she always "knew" that Justin had cheated on her in their three-year relationship, which lasted from 1999 to 2002.
Britney Spears Says She ‘Knew’ That Justin Timberlake ‘Slept Around’ On Her
Britney Spears was only 17 when she started dating Justin, who was 18 at the time. In her memoir, she chose that she knew that he had been cheating on her at several different times during their three-year relationship but decided not to say anything because she was head over heels for him.
“There were a couple of times during our relationship when I knew Justin had cheated on me. Especially because I was so infatuated and so in love, I let it go, even though the tabloids seemed determined to rub my face in it,” she wrote in an excerpt released by People magazine.
“When NSYNC went to London in 2000, photographers caught him with one of the girls from All Saints in a car. But I never said anything. At the time we’d only been together for a year,” she continued, referring to the time Justin was seen sneaking back to his hotel in London with Nicole Appleton of the British girl group, which would disband the following year.
Britney Alleges That Justin Also Cheated In Las Vegas
At another point in her memoir, Britney claimed that one of her backup dancers told her that Justin had cheated once again when they were in Las Vegas. “Another time, we were in Vegas, and one of my dancers who’d been hanging out with him told me he’d gestured toward a girl and said, ‘Yeah, man, I hit that last night,’” she wrote. “I don’t want to say who he was talking about because she’s actually very popular and she’s married with kids now. I don’t want her to feel bad.”
Britney says her friend was “shocked” by what he said and “believed Justin was only saying it because he was high and felt like bragging.” Britney wrote, “There were rumors about him with various dancers and groupies. I let it all go, but clearly, he’d slept around. It was one of those things where you know but you just don’t say anything.”
Britney Spears Discusses ‘Cry Me A River’ Music Video
Britney’s new memoir also opens up on her reaction to his viral “Cry Me A River” music video, which featured an unfaithful girlfriend who looked a lot like the pop star. In her memoir, Britney says that the 2002 music video is about "a woman who looks like me cheats on him and he wanders around sad in the rain."
She claimed that the media painted her as a "harlot who'd broken the heart of America's golden boy," when in actuality, she was "comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood.”
However, she also did confess to kissing choreographer Wade Robson while she was dating the “Mirrors” crooner.
Britney Reveals She Had An Unplanned Pregnancy With Justin Timberlake
One of the most shocking revelations to come out of her tell-all memoir is the former couple’s unplanned pregnancy. Afraid that the media would find out, Britney details in her memoir how she had an at-home abortion to terminate her pregnancy. Due to concern for her privacy, she did not speak to any doctors or visit a hospital.
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she wrote. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."
"If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” she continued. “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life."
Britney Spears' memoir "The Woman In Me" was officially released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
