Sam Asghari Trades NYC For Houston Amid Britney Spears Memoir Release

Actor Sam Asghari is spending time in Austin, Texas, only days before his ex, pop star Britney Spears, officially releases her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

Just last week, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor was in New York City for a mix of business and pleasure, joking that he visited the Big Apple for “lots of pizza.” Now that he’s in Texas, Sam dressed the part in a black cowboy hat and boots.

On Sunday afternoon, the 29-year-old actor shared a whole Instagram carousel full of photos that featured him spending time with animals and getting out and about at different events. “@f1 Weekend in Austin. ? @wagoneer @sportsillustrated #wagoneer #grandwagoneer,” he wrote in the caption, tagging Austin, Texas, as his location. Even though some fans loved the photos, others couldn’t get past his outfit!

“When tourists come to Texas,” one fan wrote along with a laughing face emoji. “Save a horse. Ride a cowboy,” another follower gushed. “Sam, I like how you are getting out and moving on but I like you better without the cowboy hat and boots. You are super hot in your other suits and workout gear,” a third fan chimed in, adding, ‘Not to be mean.”

However, not everyone who commented on the post was a fan of Sam, with one user calling him, “Nothing but a user.” One follower clapped back, asking, “Britney cheated on him. Are you going to defend that?” There were allegations floating around that Britney not only cheated on him with a house employee but also physically assaulted him several times during their relationship.

“Please. He was very helpful in helping her get her freedom... He was the inside man… do you think that her fan base could have done it alone??? She made more gains towards her freedom with him behind her than he did in the years and years before he was there,” another user commented, referring to Britney’s conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021.

Sam and Britney started dating after he appeared in her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. He popped the question in September 2021, only two months before a judge struck down her 13-year conservatorship. The two got married in June 2022, but the actor filed for divorce on August 16, 2023, citing “irreconcilable difference” for the reason for the split, as per court documents obtained by The Blast.

As for Britney’s memoir, he filed for divorce after Britney reportedly signed off on the final draft, so he is barely mentioned in the tell-all memoir. Although they are estranged, Sam told TMZ last week that he has already read the book and is “very proud of her.” He went on to say, “You know, she put a lot of work to it and it was very hard, so I’m definitely excited and I’m extremely proud of her. It was a very tough one, and, uh, you know, I can’t wait to read it. I’ll be the first one in line to buy it.”

Although he is briefly mentioned in “The Woman In Me,” one source told Us Weekly that she mostly focuses on how “giddy” she was when she learned that she was pregnant with the couple’s first child in April 2022. She said that she was so “eager” to start a family with him and had wanted to do so “for a long time” but was a bit “scared” due to her experiences with “depression” in past pregnancies.

The “Toxic” singer was married to her ex-husband Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007 and welcomed son Sean Preston in 2005 and Jayden James in 2006. Even though she was nervous about this pregnancy, she said that Sam did his best to make her feel “confident” that she could “make it through.” Unfortunately, she announced in May 2022 that she had lost the baby, admitting that it might have been better if they had waited to announce it.
