Pop star Britney Spears deleted her Instagram post hours after she posted a brief message saying that she didn’t like the headlines that she was reading.
The message came on the same day that her “Everytime” co-writer Annet Artani alleged that her brief affair with choreographer Wade Robson might have lasted a lot longer than she may want people to believe.
‘Everytime’ Cowriter Says Britney Spears Wrote Wade Robson A 14-Page Letter
On Friday, “Everytime” cowriter Annet Artani told TMZ that Britney’s affair with Wade Robson went way past a simple kiss in a bar one night. “She had written [Wade] a letter and left it in her makeup bag,” Artani, 47, told the outlet. “A long, long letter. Like, 14 pages, and [was] basically trying to end it.”
“I don’t think it was [just] making out at a bar one night. I remember specifically hearing her say it was with Wade and it went on for quite a while,” she continued. “My understanding, if you’re writing someone a 14-page letter, I would think it’s more than just, ‘We kissed one time.’”
She also went on to allege that Justin Timberlake, whom Britney had been dating at the time, found the breakup letter and promptly questioned the “Womanizer” singer about her alleged infidelity. “He probably wanted to end it because he’s this young, handsome pop star who didn’t want to be tied down,” Artani offered. “Here was an opportunity.”
In her memoir, Britney admitted that she had danced and made out with Wade at a Spanish bar while she was dating Justin, but that she confessed the incident right away and that the two had “agreed to move past” the incident because she had been so “loyal” to the NSYNC boy bander and “only had eyes for him.”
In his 2018 memoir, “Hindsight & All the Things I Can’t See in Front of Me,” Justin said that he wrote his hit song “Cry Me A River” because he felt “scored.” Many fans assumed that the song was about Britney’s alleged infidelity decades before their 2002 breakup.
“I’ve been scorned. I’ve been p---ed off. I wrote ‘Cry Me a River’ in two hours. I didn’t plan on writing it,” he wrote in his memoir. “The feelings I had were so strong that I had to write it, and I translated my feelings into a form where people could listen and, hopefully, relate to it. People heard me and they understood it because we’ve all been there.”
For what it’s worth, Britney also accused the “Cry Me A River” singer of cheating on her “a couple of times” during their three-year relationship, which lasted from 1999 to 2002. Although the “Mirrors” crooner has made a lot of headlines lately, a source told Us Weekly that he is “trying to distance himself” from the allegations.
“It’s not something he’s focusing too much on in terms of anything she might discuss when it comes to their former relationship,” an insider told the outlet earlier this month. “Justin and Britney dated so long ago, and he has a whole different life now. He’s focused on his family, his career, and moving forward, and he would like to leave anything that happened in the past behind them.”

On Friday afternoon, the "Mind Your Business" singer posted a message to X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram, telling her fans that she didn't like the headlines about her memoir.
“My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means !!! That was me then …that is in the past !!!” she began. “I don’t like the headlines I am reading …that’s exactly why I quit the business 4 years ago !!! Most of the book is from 20 years ago … I have moved on and it’s a beautiful clean slate from here !!!”
“I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life !!!” she continued. “Either way, that is the last of it and s— happens !! This is actually a book didn’t know needed to be written … although some might be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future !!!”
“Hopefully I can enlighten people who feel particularly alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood !!! Again, my motive for this book was not to harp on my past experiences which is what the press is doing and it’s dumb and silly !!!” she concluded. “I have moved on since then !! #TheWomaninMe.”
Hours later, the pop star deactivated her Instagram account; however, her X account is still active.
Britney Spears' memoir "The Woman In Me" is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
