Pop star Britney Spears is sharing new details about her father, Jamie Spears, in her upcoming memoir, "The Woman In Me."

Although the 41-year-old pop star has received many critical comments about her body from the media, the "Toxic" singer revealed that she received plenty of critical comments about her appearance from her father, who was in control of her personal and financial affairs during her 13-year conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021.

In another excerpt from “The Woman In Me” published by People magazine on Tuesday, Britney opens up about her relationship with her father and the critical comments that he made about her body during her 13-year conservatorship.

“If I thought getting criticized about my body in the press was bad, it hurt even more from my own father,” she wrote. “He repeatedly told me I looked fat and that I was going to have to do something about it.”

In another excerpt, she explained that the scrutiny over her appearance was why she shaved her head in 2007. “I’d been eyeballed so much growing up, I’d been looked up and down, had people telling me what they thought of my body since I was a teenager. Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back,” she wrote.

Unfortunately, she lost all control over her appearance during the conservatorship. “But under the conservatorship, I was made to understand that those days were now over. I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape. I had to go to bed early and take whatever medication they told me to take.”

People magazine published several excerpts of the pop star's life prior to the release of her memoir next Tuesday. In one excerpt, the "Overprotected" singer revealed that she would drink daiquiris with her mother when she was only in the eighth grade, although she confessed that her mother did not drink as much as her father allegedly did.

“For fun, starting when I was in eighth grade, my mom and I would make the two-hour drive from Kentwood to Biloxi, Mississippi, and while we were there, we would drink daiquiris. We called our cocktails ‘toddies,'” Britney wrote in her memoir.

“I loved that I was able to drink with my mom every now and then,” she said, comparing the drinking habits of her two parents.

“The way we drank was nothing like how my father did it,” Britney wrote. “When he drank, he grew more depressed and shut down. We became happier, more alive, and adventurous.”

One of the biggest bombshells about Britney's life released by People magazine was the fact that Britney Spears had an abortion in late 2000. She dated Justin Timberlake from 1998 to 2002, but it appears that their relationship ended due to an unplanned pregnancy, not infidelity, as had been alleged at the time. The news marks a sad end to their relationship, as Britney revealed that she thought that she and the "Cry Me A River" singer would one day get married.

“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” Britney wrote in her memoir. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”

Britney said that she was "conflicted" about the decision, noting that both religion and her parents had taught her that abortion was wrong. However, she and Justin ultimately decided to have an abortion after several emotional talks. “I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” she continued, adding, “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”

Britney's memoir "The Woman In Me" is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
