Jessica Simpson Gets Mistaken For Britney Spears: ‘Were You Dancing With Knives?’

One fan eagerly approached the former in a parking lot asking for an autograph, thinking that the "Take My Breath Away" singer was really the "Toxic" pop star instead!

Over the weekend, the “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer took to Instagram to share a photo of her and her daughter posing for the camera with shocked famous. “The face when someone in the parking lot at the mall asks for your autograph, but expects you to sign it Britney Spears,” she captioned the snap.

Fans had a variety of interesting reactions to the fun photo. “Is that shade?” one user asked. “It’s definitely not shade. I’d say it’s a compliment they’re both drop-dead gorgeous,” another follower replied. “No, it’s just that they’re both blonde pop singers around the same time. So I’m sure the person was just confused,” a third fan chimed in.

“Were you dancing with knives or something?” another user asked. This comment got over 1,600 likes within one day of posting. “I’m laughing so hard at this!!” one fan exclaimed. “Y’all know this is so true though,” another follower wrote. “I laughed out loud way too hard at your comment,” a third fan agreed while another follower asked, “Seriously, didn’t the clothing give it away?”

In late September, the "Hold Me Closer" singer took to Instagram to share a video that featured her dancing barefoot in her living room with two knives. Although she insisted that they were fake, many fans had their doubts given how realistic the knives sounded when she clashed them together.

“I started playing in the kitchen with knives today ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ !!! Don’t worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon ??? !!!” Britney wrote in the caption.

The following day, the "Oops!...I Did It Again" singer posted another video that featured her dancing in the same outfit. Although she is not dancing with knives this time, she has a bandage wrapped around her arm.

She also has a bruise on her lower back close to her hip that can be seen as she spins around. A small cut is also visible on her thigh. Britney made no mention of the injuries in the caption, but many fans speculated that her injuries were caused by the knives.

The following day, sources told TMZ that deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department paid a visit to Britney’s Thousand Oaks estate in Los Angeles out of an "abundance of caution" for the "Stronger" singer.

They were able to speak to Britney directly and confirm that she was okay. Insiders say that several people called in to express their concerns, including one who did a welfare check on her in the past and was "alarmed" after seeing the videos.

A few days later, the "Crossroads" actress to Instagram to call out the police officers who conducted her welfare check. In the caption of this Instagram post, Britney asked, "Is it a joke in the news again with welfare checks??? Come on America ... we cooler than that, right ??? The officers came to my home and said they would not leave until they spoke to me as people do 4 minute performances with them."

She then went on to say, "I am getting an apology," before adding, "I've been bullied in my home for so long now..ITS ENOUGH! Don't talk about it, come on, let's DO !!! As my mom does the silent treatment when paps ask questions about her own daughter as if I'm in the wrong...nope it's an old game. People need to be responsible for their actions! It's about power for cops." Comments on this Instagram post were disabled.

Britney's knife dancing video went so viral that "Halloween" actor Tyler Mane also responded to the video, warning the pop star that even if they are prop knives, they can still be dangerous.
