Yet another disappointed fan called Fields a "f---- bum" for ruining "all my fantasy teams this year," as a ninth instructed, "Raise your hand if Justin Fields and David Montgomery handed you your fantasy L today."

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Fields suffered a dislocated thumb on his right hand. X-rays were negative, and an MRI scheduled for Monday will assess further damage. Fields, who had thrown eight combined touchdowns in two recent games, had a challenging outing, managing just 58 passing yards on six of ten attempts.

He recorded no touchdowns, and one interception and led the team in rushing with 46 yards on eight carries. Despite backup quarterback Tyson Bagent taking over after Fields' departure, the Bears struggled to reach 300 yards of offense during the game.

Fans Had Previously Hailed Fields After He & DJ Moore Earned Them Their First Win

Nearly two weeks ago, Bears fans had celebrated Fields when his connection with Moore proved remarkably effective, propelling the team to a 40-20 victory over the Washington Commanders.

Per The Blast, the quarterback had amassed 282 yards and thrown four touchdowns, while Moore stood out with eight receptions, 230 yards, and three touchdowns. Since it was the Bears' first victory of the season, one fan had stated on X:

"Justin Fields has shown great progress in last two games. One thing I'm psyched about is he started throwing the ball away. I'm less concerned about his comp % tonight.  He played smart down the stretch and didn't force what wasn't there."

Another X user noted, "Justin Fields now has thrown for 200+ yards in 4/5 games, something he only did 2 times ALL of last season. DJ Moore matters," while a Bears' fan page claimed, "All the Justin Fields haters are quiet right now LOL. Have a night QB1." Talking about the win in a post-game interview, Fields had said:

"It felt good. It felt good. Just seeing all the hard work pay off, especially getting a dub after everything that's happened this year. Everything in the media. Everything on the outside. It just feels good when you can say that the hard work paid off, so again, I'm proud of everybody in the building. I love everybody on my team. Players, coaches, shoot, everybody upstairs. I might not even know them, but I love y'all."
