Britney Spears’ Estranged Dad Jamie Spears Reportedly Living With Jamie Lynn Spears

Pop star Britney Spears' estranged father Jamie Spears is reportedly living with her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, who was just eliminated from season 32 of "Dancing With The Stars" on Tuesday night.

The 41-year-old pop star has been estranged from her father and the rest of her family due to a 13-year conservatorship that lasted from February 2008 to November 2021. During that time, her father largely controlled her personal and financial affairs.

On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, sources told the Daily Mail that Jamie Spears was staying with Jamie Lynn Spears after getting out of rehab to try to control his struggles with alcoholism. His ex-wife Lynne Spears detailed his lengthy battle with addiction in her 2008 book “Through The Storm.”

The 71-year-old left rehab in July after completing a 30-day program, but sources told the outlet that he has struggled to stay sober and is now living in a guest house on Jamie Lynn’s property in Hammond, Louisiana. Jamie Lynn also lives there along with her husband, Jamie Watson, and their two daughters: Maddie, 15, and Ivey, 5.

Sources say that his drinking has prompted concern for his health among family members, with one insider telling the outlet, “Jamie just got out of rehab, but is already drinking again, which worries Lynne and Jamie Lynn.” Although the “Zoey 101” star is concerned about her father’s alcohol use, Jamie was reportedly the one looking over his grandchildren while she was traveling to California to film “Dancing With The Stars.”

“Jamie was babysitting Ivey while Jamie Lynn competed on Dancing With The Stars with Lynne,” the source said, as Lynne Spears flew from Louisiana to L.A. to watch her daughter perform in the premiere. The insider revealed that the decision has also caused Britney’s relationship with her sister to become strained as a result.

The source went on to say that the “Toxic” singer is not happy that her estranged father is living with her sister and her family. “This obviously infuriates Britney for so many reasons,” the source dished. “She feels betrayed that her sister is putting up her dad and allowing him to watch her kids after what he did to her.”

“She cannot believe that Jamie is caring for Jamie Lynn's daughters when he was partially to blame for Britney's falling out with her two sons,” she added. On August 1, Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline moved their two teenage sons - Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17 - to Hawaii along with the rest of his family after his wife got a job at a sports department at a university there.

In August 2023, there were rumors that Britney Spears was considering reconciling with her estranged father amid her divorce from actor Sam Asghari. The pop star learned from her brother, Bryan, that her father has been in and out of the hospital for several months, according to TMZ.

Sources told the outlet that they thought that there was something wrong with his kidneys at first; however, it looks like he had a knee replacement sixteen years ago that caused an infection earlier this year. He went through another surgery later in the month to try to clear the infection. Although he survived the surgery, sources told the outlet that he has “lost more than 25 pounds” and is “extremely thin.”

Many fans are wondering what the Princess of Pop wrote about her family in her upcoming memoir, “The Woman In Me.” Sources told the Daily Mail last month that although Britney had a lot of “anger” with the way her mother and sister treated her during her conservatorship, she decided to “let all of this go” and delete some of the things that she wrote about them in her book.

“Britney was not asked by Lynne or Jamie Lynn to remove some of the nasty stuff she’d written about them,” a source told the outlet. “It was her own choice to do this.”
