According to a source, "The Real" co-host was heartbroken by the rapper's choice to leave her side, given her undying affections for the Columbian hunk. Despite the couple's end being a foretold occurrence, the San Jose beauty wanted to fight for her marriage.

While the 45-year-old musician was ready to throw the towel on his two-year romance with the TV host, a source claimed the "Style Pop" star was unprepared to break her vows. The insider revealed that Mai was emotionally distraught by the impending divorce.

“The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work and wants her family to be one solid unit. She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce,” the informant claimed to Page Six, noting that the 44-year-old's love for her beau had not dwindled.

“[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down,” the source continued.

Despite the future looking bleak for her romance with Jeezy, the insider explained that Mai wishes to reconcile with the "Soul Survivor" artist.

“Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding out hope that he would be willing to sit down and work things [out]. She is hoping for a resolution and wants to remain as a united family unit,” the informant revealed.

According to the legal documents, the Jeezy noted the duo had signed a prenuptial agreement. He also requested joint custody of their daughter, Monaco, who was born last year.

Following news of the "How Do I Look?" alum's separation from Jeezy, a resurfaced clip showed that the 44-year-old had been warned about her divorce. The January 2022 video came from an episode of Mai's “Hello Hunnay with Jeannie Mai” YouTube channel.

The footage, which went viral after the couple's split, captured the media personality with her mother, Olivia TuTram Mai, and an Asian astrologer named Jung Vin Fat. The then-pregnant star referred to the clairvoyant medium as “Joe,” asking him to read her horoscope and uncover if Jeezy would be her last husband.

“Okay, on your palm, you have a second one,” Joe revealed, to which the mother of one clarified that she was currently in her second marriage. After rechecking her charts, the fortune teller claimed Mai had been destined with two marriages unless she wanted more.

“Let me tell you this, 95 percent, you have–this is the second one. If you want to go more than that, it’s up to you,” the palm reader explained. When the TV host vehemently refused to have a third marriage, the astrologer stated the future was affected by her actions and God’s will.

“Let me tell you this, when you get married, with this one, the second one, if you look more than that, it depends on you because this is based on God,” Joe continued. “The day, the time, the year you’re born, this already have it.”

Breaking down the fortune teller's words, the "DWTS" alum summarized: “So it’s already written for me that I have two marriages and I’m good. But if I get greedy and I do something to mess up my future, then I can, of course, go marry up and mess up.”
