According to the Daily Mail, the actress shared a now-deleted video post to her Instagram account, slamming the public for "crucifying" him for making a "mistake."

"There's no human on this planet that doesn't deserve to have the best life and to be happy and free because you are made in the image of the good Lord, made perfectly just the way you are," she shared.

"He made a mistake, but everyone just keep going, keep crucifying him, as if he's not already suffering," she continued before urging critics to "leave him alone."

The controversy surrounding the defense of Masterson following his rape conviction took another twist, with Manning criticizing his former colleagues, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, for issuing an apology for writing character reference letters on Masterson's behalf.

In the footage, the "Cleaveland Abduction" actress accused the couple of humiliating somebody that she "actually really loved and cared for." In her caption for the post, she noted that the "biggest disgrace of the year" was "Mila and Ashton back peddling" on their character reference for Masterson.

"Stand for something," she added before revealing that she has never and "will never" vote.

Kutcher and Kunis, who appeared alongside Masterson in the hit sitcom "That '70s Show," had come under fire for submitting character reference letters during Masterson's trial. 

The couple wrote to the judge on the issue, asking for leniency in his sentencing. The move ignited a firestorm of debate as some of his old posts and comments began to resurface.

Manning recently made headlines for sharing her feelings about her time on the popular series "Orange Is the New Black." According to Entertainment Weekly, she accused the series' staff of "abusive" behavior related to the press cycle surrounding her character's rape-centered storyline.

"On 'Orange Is the New Black,' which most people know me for, thinking that that's my only project, it was written that I was raped. I was raped on the show, remember?" She said in the now-deleted post. "No one ever told me that, when I had to hit the press, the amount of the wall I'd be up against. 'So what was it like to be raped on the show?' The most divisive, pervasive topic on the planet, and I had to stand up and be the spokesperson for rape. That's abusive to me."

She then called out the show creator for not preparing her to discuss such a topic in interviews for the series.

"Nobody ever told me what I would be up against. You just dropped that on me in that season, you just dropped it on me. 'Oh, she's just going to get raped, you're just going to have to deal with it in the press.' How abusive that was," she added.
