Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, is being sued by a former project manager who alleges he was fired without being properly compensated.
According to the court documents obtained by The Blast, Ye's former project manager is suing him over disagreements that they had about the conditions of the Malibu property. Not only did his former project manager claim that he was forced to sleep on the floor, but he also said that the Donda rapper requested a home without windows or electricity, which he claims created a clear labor code violation.
Kanye West Sued By Former Project Manager After Requesting Home With No Windows, Electricity
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Kanye West is being sued by a man named Tony Saxon, who was hired as a project manager and caretaker of one of the rapper's Malibu properties in September 2021. In the legal documents, Saxon claimed that had been working 16-hour days and sleeping on the floor. Saxon claims he “emphasized his stress and anxiety” but claims that Ye took “no actions” to “help alleviate his stress.” Saxon goes on to state that Ye “exhibited a consistent pattern of being unresponsive and difficult to communicate with.”
In October 2021, Saxon claimed that he was “exhausted and overburdened” by the amount of work he had to do. He said that Ye had no problem “disregarding” his complaint. A month later, Saxon claimed he “injured his back severely” and needed time off to rest. He claims that the rapper “continued to insist on having updates on the house.”
That same week, Saxon alleges that Ye asked him to “remove all of the electricity and windows from the house.” Saxon says he informed the rapper about how dangerous that could be, but he claims that Ye started “raising his voice and insisting on moving large generators inside the house, which could potentially lead to a fire hazard.”
Former Project Manager Claims Ye Called Him An 'Enemy'
According to the court filing, Ye “threatened” him and claimed he would be “considered an enemy” if he did not comply with his demands. After Saxon says he declined to “put others and himself at risk,” he alleges that Ye told him to “get the h*ll out.”
On or around the same day he was fired, Saxon said he told Kanye West that he was owed $16,500 for all the work done the day before and $26,000 for reinforcement of ramps he had installed in the home, as well as all extra supplies that he had bought.
Saxon went on to say that Ye told him, "If you don't do what I say, you're not going to work for me, I'm not gonna be your friend anymore and you'll just see me on TV." After Saxon said he responded, “I don’t watch TV,” he claims Ye told him to “Leave.”
Saxon says he "expressed concerns about the extreme danger of such actions" but Ye was unwilling to listen. As such, he is now suing for various labor code violations, unpaid wages, and damages.
Kanye West And His 'Wife' Currently Under Fire For Indecent Exposure In Italy
Kanye West and his “wife” Bianca Censori have been making headlines for much of the past month as they travel around Italy. The two were caught in a compromising position on a boat in Venice last month which is currently being investigated by local law enforcement.
Earlier this week, Bianca, who has been sporting more and more revealing outfits, was seen walking out and about with a purple pillow clutched to her chest amid calls for her deportation due to her scandalous attire. According to the Daily Mail, Kanye West was seen walking the streets on Italy in only a pair of socks after the two went to dinner in Florence.
Sources have told Page Six that, although it looks like he has just been on vacation, he has actually been planning to release a new album that “sounds crazy.” The insider went on to say “He’s been cooking up in the studio all summer” and teased that “new music is imminent.”
The news comes hot on the heels of a lawsuit that was filed by Kanye West himself, suing a social media account over leaked music that he claims misappropriated trade secrets and breached several contracts.
