Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake have nothing but love between them.

Even though a viral video from backstage of the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards showed what seemed to be a heated moment between both widely known artists, Megan has clarified that the brief interaction was anything but angry. To that end, she uploaded a short clip of her and the "Too Late to Apologize" hitmaker having a fun conversation during the same event.

Megan Thee Stallion Assures Fans Of Her Bond With Justin Timberlake

As Variety reported, footage from MTV's backstage live feed showed Megan seemingly arguing with Timberlake sometime before or after her joint performance with Cardi B of their new collab, "Bongos."

Per the video, the five-time American Music Awards winner gets her hair touched when the "Friends with Benefits" actor appears alongside his *NSYNC bandmates.

While walking past, the "Mirrors" singer leaned in to say something to Megan, who responded by pointing her finger emphatically and turning away while looking angry. At this point, the group's Joey Fatone, who was also seen laughing, said something.

In the hours following the reel going viral, multiple sources spilled the tea on what transpired between the entertainment giants. As one person stated, "Meg loves Justin. She said, "No, no, no, we've never met before. It was their first time meeting, and she was excited."

That excitement shone through in the recording the 28-year-old shared via her Instagram feed. She is spotted making animated gestures while talking to the camera after focusing it on Timberlake, who is next to her.

The "In Time" star responded to what she was saying by laughing out loud, as the content of the conversation was swallowed by the track playing in the background. In the caption, Megan wrote:

"I just talk with my hands ??‍♀️ lol @justintimberlake love ya ?."

The "Hot Girl Summer" rapper was immediately swept up in the love of her fans, as one of them enthusiastically exclaimed in the comments, "PERIOD! Shut the haters up!!!!!!!!!!" and a second claimed, "It's annoying that you even have to explain."

"Imagine... jumping to conclusions and instantly assuming a black woman was angry," a third cybercitizen noted, and a fourth mentioned, "All of us apart of the hand talking and head rolling committee knew it was all love." A fifth netizen added:

"It's crazy how quick the media was to try and push the "angry black woman" narrative with no context. Everyone knows how animated you are as a person and that's why we love you."

The Texas Southern University Alum & Cardi B Thrilled The Crowd During Their VMAs Set

The return of the VMAs brought with it a star-studded lineup of performers that had at-home spectators wholly engaged. Cardi and Megan were among the brightest stars gracing the stage, who electrified the audience with their sensational single "Bongos," as we mentioned above.

For their set, the reigning rap legends arrived in matching skimpy blue outfits and danced on a tropically decorated stage featuring palm trees and vibrant club lighting. While the "Bodak Yellow" rapper paired a tiny blue dress and ankle boots, her Texan pal shone in a slightly more daring ensemble emphasizing her trim waistline.

Cosmopolitan said the pair's hit track was released just before the VMAs on September 8, marking Cardi and Megan's first collaboration since their record-breaking hit "WAP." The 2020 single made history by becoming the first female rap collaboration to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained at the top of the charts for four weeks.

Given the tremendous success of "WAP," it is no surprise that the dynamic duo has teamed up once more for "Bongos." The single has already amassed millions of views since its beach-themed music video debuted on YouTube last Friday.
