Just before or after her sizzling performance with Cardi B on their new track "Bongos," a backstage clip from MTV's live feed captured the "Fever" artist apparently engaged in a heated discussion with Timberlake.

Amidst the backstage hustle and bustle, the rapper was spotted during her glam routine as the former boy band members strolled by. Timberlake, wearing a smile, leaned in for a chat.

However, the 28-year-old's response was assertive, punctuated by a pointed finger, before she turned away, looking upset. Joey Fatone from the group also chimed in with his own comment. In case you misunderstood, it seemed like a heated exchange, but someone on the inside who observed the interaction assured Variety that there was absolutely no quarrel.

According to the source, Timberlake said "'It's so nice to meet you,' and she said 'No, no this don't count, this don't count. We gotta meet proper.'" They also pointed out that the interaction "was very cute."

Another onlooker chimed in, affirming the positive nature of the encounter. They shared, "Meg loves Justin. She was saying "No, no, no, we've never met before. It was their first time meeting and she was excited."

While fans continue to speculate about the exchange, another reason for her serious demeanor could have been that she was thinking about her performance with Cardi B.

Before the event, the reigning rap queens released "Bongos," making it their first collaboration since the record-breaking hit "WAP." Their 2020 single made waves as the inaugural female rap collaboration to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, reigning at the top for four consecutive weeks.

With such an impressive track record, it is no surprise that the dynamic duo decided to try their hands at another collaboration.

Following that, the "Savage" sensation made her entrance as their boss, praising the duo for their exceptional salesmanship and uncanny resemblance, almost like identical twins.

The revelation came to light in a surprising turn as the duo's half-heart lockets confirmed their brotherly bond. In the scene, the duo exclaimed, "Wow, we're twins. We're f**king identical twins," which added a comedic twist as the characters were far from identical.

Despite their apparent differences, the boys embarked on a mission to reunite their estranged parents. The storyline evoked memories of the iconic 90s film "The Parents Trap," where Lindsay Lohan portrayed both twins.

In contrast to the timeless film, the musical took a comedic route, filled with witty gags and playful innuendos. Rather than adopting a whole new persona, the multi-talented starlet infused her signature "classy, bougie, and ratchet" energy into the movie.

The "P-Valley" actress delivered a sultry performance in a song, effortlessly showcasing her rap skills while embodying the essence of a powerful female boss. Apart from her raunchy lyrics, the chart-topper had another standout moment in the teaser, showing off some impressive dance moves and even throwing a punch in one scene.

In the caption, she announced, "Hotties. SAG has approved us to promote my first film, 'DICKS: THE MUSICAL.' You all are not ready for this one. In theaters September 29."
