Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion seem to have blown the MTV VMAs crowd away, with the peppiest, most power-packed performance of their song, "Bongos." This is the second collaborative song between the two, the first being "WAP," released in 2020. "WAP" debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, and while its culture-shocking video and lyrics were nominated for four VMAs in 2021, it did not score a single win.

Now, with "Bongos" just released on September 8, the duo plans to make another sweep in the top charts, whether they score any awards or not.

Cardi kicked off the performance, getting lowered to the stage atop a faint disco ball, even as she shook her curves to the beats. She wore her hair loose, in curls, like a 1970 version of Donna Summer. When she stepped on the stage, she was accompanied by shirtless male bongo players, and later dancers in neon green and blue two-piece bathing suits joined her once the song kicked in. While the dancers were a stunning vision in coordination, Cardi B, dressed in a stunning blue dress, was par for the course as well.

Later, in the song, Megan then appeared on a separate stage, with another set of backup dancers giving their all to the moves, while Meg did her signature twerking. After her verse, Cardi B joined her as they walked arm in arm to the main stage to complete the song together. Like Cardi, Megan was also wearing blue. On the red carpet though, she wore a sheer black dress that showed off her curves to perfection.
