Selena Gomez has high standards when it comes to relationships and does not mind letting the world know.

The prominent musician, who is currently single, has been romantically linked to several A-list celebs, including Justin Bieber, Zedd, and The Weeknd, with a rumored involvement with Zayn Malik.

Still, Gomez, whose singleness is admittedly due to her "high maintenance," has just revealed the requirements her future man must meet to match her standards.

Selena Gomez Needs Her Future Man To Be Cool, Nice & Make Her Laugh

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM, the Disney alum discussed one of her latest songs, "Single Soon," with the hosts, highlighting a verse that pointed at her being "high maintenance."When asked if she was actually "high maintenance," she replied, "I think I have standards, and I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high maintenance."

Gomez clarified that having high standards and being high maintenance differed completely, but she included the line in her lyrics because it was "fun." She also said, "I'm not ashamed to say I actually require x,y, and z for you to be with me," adding, "So in a way that was just meant to be for the attitude of the song and that's genuinely how I feel."

The "Kiss & Tell" musician did not mind elaborating on what she meant by x, y, and z, as she shared, "You gotta be cool, man, not cool in the sense that people think you're cool, you just gotta be nice and, like, please make me laugh and also just be good to my family and people around you."

News of Gomez's high-maintenance attributes circulated in June after she declared so in a TikTok video of her flirting with some soccer players as she sat on the sidelines of the pitch. The 31-year-old was covered in thick blankets and voiced her intentions of hooking up with the athletes.

She also ensured to divulge why she was single. "I'm single!" Gomez yelled to the football players so they could hear. "I'm just a little high maintenance, but I'll love you so much." Meanwhile, in the caption, she wrote, "The struggle, man, lol." The video typically gained quite the attention, with over five million users reacting with likes and thousands dropping comments.

One fan admitted they would have sprinted to her quickly if they were within earshot of the "Another Cinderella Story" star's declaration. Another follower who could relate commented, "Miss Selena, I can't tell you how much I felt that," while a few more noted that the musician could get any man she wanted.

As fans are aware, the video shut down any speculation about her and Malik being an item despite allegedly being spotted getting cozy in New York. The rumors were said to have begun when the "Pillow Talk" vocalist followed her on Instagram, after which they were seen having a private dinner at a restaurant in Soho.

TikTok user Klarissa Garcia claimed that Gomez and Malik were dating using a viral video where she uploaded a screenshot of a chat between the restaurant's hostess and herself.

The hostess claimed that she saw the celebs walk into the establishment "hand in hand" and "making out" as she seated them for dinner.  Garcia further asserted that "no one noticed them" besides the hostess, despite their PDA, as she believed that New Yorkers were not so obsessed with famous people.

The '13 Reasons Why' Producer Disclosed Jolting Reason Behind Her Singleness

Last month, Gomez realized another shocking reason behind her singleness in an entertaining TikTok video set to Bonnie Tyler's song, "I Need A Hero." Using a filter that read, "Why Am I Single?" the Rare Beauty founder ran through multiple reasons, including "Fear of Intimacy," "Too many defenses," and "Low self-esteem."

The filter ultimately landed on "You Have Bad Taste," prompting Gomez to express disbelief with her mouth wide open. "Well, that's rude Tik Tok," she captioned the clip.

The comments section was quickly filled with mixed opinions about her past relationships. One such remark read, "Jb and The Weeknd weren't bad taste, but they were toxic."

A second follower stated, "Ouch," while another believed the filter was "accurate." A few others could also relate to her "bad taste" in men as one lamented, "Girl, I feel you. Me too."
