The two have been linked several times in the press for many reasons. Rodrigo, 20, has been quite lengthy about her admiration and love for the 33-year-old "You're In Love" singer and has spoken openly about Swift's artistic influence on her music.

The Disney darling's first album was released to critical acclaim in 2021, and its follow-up, "GUTS," was released on September 8th.

However, rumors of a falling out between the musicians have been swirling around the mill lately.

In a recent profile with the New York Times, Rodrigo didn't go into detail when the "Fearless" singer was brought up. After Rodrigo's reported "brief" comments concerning Swift in the profile, social media was set ablaze with commentary from listeners about their relationship, many fans wondering if there is more to their relationship than the "lacy" singer has let on.

The alleged beef reportedly stemmed from listener reception following Swift and her producer and pal Jack Antonoff's names being added as songwriting credits on multiple tracks from her first LP, "SOUR."

According to one of our pieces of coverage, Rodrigo added a credit for the duo to the fan favorite, "Deja Vu." St. Vincent also reportedly received a credit on the track. Rodrigo interpolated Swift's recent Billboard number-one hit, "Cruel Summer." "Cruel Summer" originally appeared on 2019's "Lover."

The "Get Him Back!" singer also used chords from Swift's "New Year's Day," which appeared on the 2017 LP "Reputation."

Rodrigo explained the song's inspiration, "When I got home [from a road trip], I decided to sing [deja vu] over the chords to 'New Year's Day.' I think they're lovely chords. I was lucky to be approved, and it's on the record now. So yeah, it's a cool thing," she would tell Zach Sang in an interview. (via The Blast, per HypeBae.)

In response to Rodrigo's revelation about her prior European engagement, a fan posted on X, "Her going to Europe just for a holiday but successfully dodging the question with an irrelevant truth."

The songstress set the record straight in a profile with Rolling Stone, published on Tuesday morning.

Rodrigo told the outlet, "I don't have beef with anyone. I'm very chill. I keep to myself. I have my four friends and my mom, and that's the only people I talk to, ever. There's nothing to say." (per X)

Swift has never responded to rift rumors; she only has glowing things to say about Rodrigo. The "Right Where You Left Me" singer sent Rodrigo a note two years ago amid her early success.

About the note, Rodrigo said, "I don't want to divulge too much because it's lovely and personal, but she talks a lot about how, I think you make your luck in the world," per Billboard. "I don't know, she said so eloquently, and when I say it now... It's not as cool." (via Us Weekly.)
