Jamie Foxx is celebrating his late sister, DeOndra Dixon, on her 39th posthumous birthday, almost three years following her passing. DeOndra, who was born with Down syndrome, departed this earth at 36 in October 2020, as announced on Instagram by Foxx at the time.

The bereaved actor still misses his younger sister and recently voiced so in a touching tribute on social media.

Foxx took to Instagram on September 6 to drop a series of posts in honor of DeOndra birthday, beginning with a throwback picture of the duo grinning and attached to a beautiful message that read:

"Miss u … I wish you were here. I know you're in heaven, cracking everybody up with your jokes." The tribute gained over 98k likes, with fans tearfully celebrating the deceased in the comments section.

"❤️ She will be always your angel ❤️," one comment read, followed by another: "Happy Heavenly Birthday to your dear sister, DeOndra." A third user shared, "Loved always and forever! ?.”

A fellow sympathizer wrote, "?Sorry for YOUR loss. May SHE Rest in PEACE," and another added, "Sorry for your loss @iamjamiefoxx ? She was a light and bright soul. ❤️❤️ ? ?.”

Another follower expressed, "You were always so kind to her. We spoke of it when I met you in Maui 2 years ago. I know how much she meant to you. God Bless." One more comment read, "Sending prayers and hugs."

In a follow-up post the "Django Unchained" actor regarded his late sister as his "beautiful angel deondra…." and uploaded several pictures of himself with her over the years. One slide featured only DeOndra, who looked beyond joyful. Fans trooped in with more compassionate remarks, including one who declared, "Love Light and Inner Grace Always Melanie ✨?✨?✨?✨?✨?✨?✨.

A second supporter penned, "DeOndra, Angel???" while a third proclaimed, "Sending love ❤️ and condolences ? I know the feeling of grieving." Foxx did not stop there with his tributes as he took to his Instagram Story with a video, filmed from within a vehicle and highlighting a memorial in the form of a lovely message honoring DeOndra.

"Fly high butterfly DeOndra" could be seen in large pink and blue block letters alongside cutout balloons and stars in front of a water fountain. "Miss you," the "Miami Vice" actor wrote across the video.

DeOndra will be forever missed by many, especially her ever-loving brother, who shared the news of her demise on October 19, 2020, on Instagram. He posted a black and white photo of himself with her alongside a mournful message that began: 

"My heart is shattered into a million pieces... my beautiful, loving sister Deondra has transitioned...I say transitioned because she will always be alive... anyone who knew my sis... knew that she was a bright light..."

He then gushed about her laudable dance moves, adding that he knew she was in heaven "dancing with her wings on."

Despite the heartbreak Foxx experienced, he was happy for the "great memories" his late sister left him and their loved ones, including her achievement as "the ambassador to @globaldownsyndrome."

Ending the emotional note, he stated that while DeOndra had left a hole in his heart, he would "fill it with all of the memories that you gave me" and added, "I love you with every ounce of me... our family is shattered, but we will put the pieces back together with your love... and y'all, please keep my family in your prayers... ???."

Foxx's heartwarming tribute to his late sister comes a day after the "Project Power" actor was spotted spending some quality moments with his girlfriend, Alyce Huckstepp, amid a much-needed getaway, months after recovering from a health scare.

As reported, the couple who have been dating since May 2022 were seen arriving at their chosen resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, holding hands and strolling side by side.

The 55-year-old movie star and his babe were decked in all-black outfits with wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, and white shoes. Huckstepp later changed to a white tank top and black shorts.

In contrast, Foxx held on to most of his clothing, only removing his black sweatshirt to reveal a white crew-neck shirt. He also headed to the beach with binoculars for some sightseeing.
