West pressed pause on his music career after his antisemitism controversy in October 2022. At the time, the rapper tweeted about "going death con 3 on Jewish People." A few weeks later, West appeared on a popular conspiracy theorists podcast and praised controversial Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

During several interactions with paparazzi, West also refused to backtrack his comments, insisting they weren't antisemitic. Shortly after his comments went viral and received backlash, several brands terminated their partnerships with the "All of the Lights" rapper.

West lost his professional relationships with Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap. Talent agency CAA and production company MRC also cut ties with the controversial rapper. This resulted in him losing over $1 billion of his net worth and his billionaire status.

His most recent comments on the antisemitism controversy came in March when West said on his Instagram page that Jewish actor Jonah Hill in "21 Jump Street" made him "like Jewish people again."

He wrote at the time, "Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again. No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people. No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew. Thank you Jonah Hill I love you."

Since his controversy, West stopped stage performances until he recently joined rapper Travis Scott for a concert. The "Heartless" rapper joined Scott for a performance in Rome ahead of his upcoming Circus Maximus tour.

As he introduced West to the audience, Scott heavily praised his fellow rapper as a great inspiration in music. He called West the "only human being on this motherf**king planet that has ever walked side by side with me through anything and every motherf**king thing."

The crowd went wild as the "I Wonder" rapper appeared on stage. The two rappers then performed two songs from West's vast music catalog. West and Scott performed "Praise God" from the 2021 Donda album and "Can't Tell Me Nothing" from the Graduation album.
