Britney Spears Deletes Instagram For First Time Amid Sam Asghari Divorce

It seems Britney Spears might be looking to take a break from social media amid her divorce from actor Sam Asghari.

On Wednesday afternoon, shortly after 4 PM ET, the "Toxic" singer's Instagram page suddenly disappeared. The last time that she deleted her Instagram page was on July 22, shortly after the release of her latest single, “Mind Your Business,” featuring will.i.am. No explanation was given for why she deleted her account at that time, but she did return three days later without addressing her absence.

On Wednesday, August 30, fans of the pop star couldn’t help but notice that her Instagram page had been taken down. After teasing “naughty revelations” and dancing in a brown bra and animal-print body suit, the “Stronger” singer followed it up with a cryptic quote about “boundaries.”

“You can mute people in real life too. It’s called boundaries,” the post read. That post was dated August 28 and was Britney’s last post before she decided to take down her Instagram account.

Now the message on her page reads: “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram.”

There is no telling whether it will be a few hours or a few days until Britney gets back on Instagram, but it looks like she deleted her account shortly after a report came out saying that she was looking forward to dating “hot guys” once her divorce is finalized.

On Wednesday, a source told Us Weekly that the “Oops!...I Did It Again” singer is looking forward to getting back in the dating game for the first time since her conservatorship ended in November 2021. Britney had started dating Sam while her conservatorship was still in effect in 2016; he proposed in September 2021.

“As far as dating goes, Britney just wants to enjoy her freedom and meet hot guys — that seems to be the priority,” one source said, admitting “it’s hard to know what Britney really wants down the line — it changes so frequently.”

However, it does seem like Britney is getting ready to focus on releasing new music amid the release of her memoir,” The Woman In Me.” One source said that Britney’s new songs “will be about freeing herself from negativity and unhealthy people.”

Even though the Princess of Pop has expressed hesitancy to tour again, she might be willing to get back on stage with the Queen of Pop for the first time since her conservatorship ended. Madonna has reportedly asked Britney to come join her on stage for at least one stop in Los Angeles on her Celebration tour.

“Britney’s grateful for the support she’s gotten from her friends in the biz — Madonna especially,” a source told the outlet. “She’d love to join her, but the question is whether or not she can handle that type of pressure and attention.”

Her team has been closely monitoring her mental health. Even though Britney reportedly wants to do a “big sit-down interview” following the release of her memoir, one source said, “Her team will have to evaluate where she is at to see if she is ready for it.”

Unfortunately, there are those who seem worried about Britney’s mental health amid the divorce. “She was finally getting to a positive place, and then Sam filed for divorce. People are worried how all of this will affect her,” one source said while another added, “Some people are of the opinion that Britney’s on a dangerous downward spiral, and the stuff she’s been [doing] hasn’t done much to dampen that worry. The concern for Britney’s welfare right now is off the charts.”

Fortunately, it appears that she is starting to reconnect with her family members. After her mother, Lynne Spears, came to visit her in May, the pop star seems open to repairing that relationship. “Now that she no longer has Sam to rely on, Britney’s more open to possibly repairing things with her mom,” the source claimed. “She’s not sure they can ever fully recover, but she’s open to it.”

However, the source went on to say that she has no intentions of reconnecting with her father, Jamie Spears, despite reports to the contrary. “Britney has no intention of reconciling with her dad,” another insider said, while yet another source shared, “Jamie is the last person she’d ever turn to. He will more than likely never be a part of her life again.”
