'And Just Like That' Shoe Gets Adopted By Sarah Jessica Parker!

"And Just Like That" is the newest iteration of "Sex and the City," and fans were more than happy to see Sarah Jessica Parker revisit her much-loved character, Carrie Bradshaw. Of course, there's another similarity between Parker and Bradshaw, and it's a cat!

In a recent post, Sarah Jessica Parker put up pictures of a very familiar cat. Fans of the continuations series, "And Just Like That" recognized the feline as Shoe, a new kitten that Carrie Bradshaw adopts after Che Diaz brings over to her apartment. While Bradshaw wonders if she can keep the kitten, it seems Sarah Jessica Parker or SJP has no reservations about it in her real life, along with Matthew Broderick.

In a recent IG post, Parker put up several pictures of the cat, captioning the carousel:

"His off-camera name is Lotus.
He and his siblings were all given botanical names when they were rescued as newborns by the @cthumanesociety.
Adopted officially by the Parker/Broderick family in April 2023.
He joins Rémy and Smila whom we adopted in May 2022.
If he looks familiar, that's because he is.

While most of the pictures are of Shoe, rather than Lotus, in one picture Parker is seen cuddling him, along with more pictures of Lotus with his siblings.

Fans gushed over Lotus/Shoe's cuteness, as well as the generosity of the Parker/Broderick household for adopting him, even as the Connecticut Humane Society had something to say about famous foster homes!

Fans seemed to coo over Shoe in the series, as one wrote, "He was the best part of the episode!!!!"

The news of SJP adopting Lotus gave fans pause, as one wrote, "And Just Like That Lotus will have an amazing life..." Another gushed, "And just like that, @sarahjessicaparker shows us (again) how amazing of a human she is."

Michelle Pfeiffer also found Lotus to be "Awww…what a cutie!" while Katie Couric loved it and found him to be "So Cute!"

Another fan had already felt the bond, writing, "I knew he was your real cat. You can’t fake that bond..." More raved about Parker, writing, "I love you even more! That’s the sweetest & I thought you seemed so good & familiar with kitty cats on the show! Amazing!"

One Instagram user had an interesting comment to share, writing, "We adopted Fern from the same litter. When I took her home they let me know that her siblings were on the set of 'And Just Like That.' She’s doing well and is the sweetest snuggle bug ever. We love her so much!"

Here's Lotus, safe at home in the Parker/Broderick household...

While Shoe/Lotus has fans gushing, with one writing, "Shoe is the best addition to the SATC universe. Please more Shoe next season," others were more excited with the Kim Cattrall cameo, as she reprised her Samatha Jones role just for a few seconds.

While they are shown to be the best of friends in "Sex and the City" Cattrall and Parker may not be the best of friends IRL. In fact, the two had a rather infamous falling out, and even for the cameo that Cattrall did, put in motion by HBO, she recorded her dialogue without seeing or speaking to her former co-stars, Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and even AJLT’s show-runner Michael Patrick King. All Cattrall shot was a 20-second phone call between Jones and SJP's Bradshaw and fans are begging for her to be back for season 3.

Of course, that depends on whether Cattrall can bury the hatchet with the rest of the cast, especially Parker and King, till then, all fans can do is hope. So while fingers are crossed for more of Samantha Jones, here is more of Carrie Bradshaw with Shoe!

Of course, you can't make a fan out of everyone, as one IG user wrote, "Also the name “Shoe” is giving absolutely nothing. It’s like a metaphor for the writers’ effort level towards writing everything in this new show."
