Hulk Hogan is widely known as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, but he also had a thing for alcohol over the years of his career.
Fortunately, the phenomenal wrestler took a permanent break from drinking seven months ago, which he recently got candid about, divulging what led up to his sobriety and touching on his current dependence on CBD, cannabidiol.
Hulk Hogan Is 'No Longer Tempted To Drink Alcohol' Amid 7-Month Sobriety Journey.
Hogan, who has had lots of practice drinking, spoke with Muscle and Health about how his four-decade wrestling career contributed to his alcohol intake. He mentioned his sobriety, saying, "About seven months ago, I decided not to drink any more alcohol. I saw stuff I didn't condone or like at a New Year's Eve party."
The WWE alum further explained, "I saw myself in this environment. And I went, 'You know what? I don't know how I got here, but I'm done.' It was just that one thing." Hogan pointed out that he was mostly around people who "believed and behaved" differently from him, so he just decided he was out and has felt better ever since.
"It feels much better to be so clear-headed," he shared. "I'm no longer tempted to drink alcohol. I don't have an addictive personality. I mean, with anything. It can be business or people or alcohol or drugs. When I'm done, I'm done."
Despite his sobriety, some of the 70-year-old star's buddies initially tried to press him to take alcohol, but they no longer do so. Although Hogan has given up on alcohol, he now favors CBD, which he was introduced to by "Ric Flair, Mike Tyson, and the founder and president of Carma Holdings, Chad Bronstein."
According to him, the three approached him like "The Royal Rumble." Initially, he was confused about the product, given that he had never used it and needed help understanding the health aspects of it.
"It took me a while to figure it out because I am a little slow," the retired pro-wrestler explained. "I had to do a lot of research and do my due diligence," before adding, "I figured this was something that really would benefit a lot of people that needed help – and I know it will."
Hogan's faith in CBD also stemmed from his experience with pain meds not doing anything helpful whenever he underwent surgeries. He articulated that CBD relieved his joints and calmed everything down compared to his former meds.
The IWGP Heavyweight Championship winner then voiced his hopes for his CBD products to help people with their health, especially those returning from war, drug addicts, or "people who've got themselves into the prescription trap following illness or anxiety."
As Hogan takes pride in his seven-month sobriety journey, he also cannot get over his engagement to yoga instructor Sky Daily a year after he divorced his second wife, Jennifer McDaniels.
He and Daily dated for over a year before he proposed to her. The veteran wrestler announced the fantastic news during his speech at his fiancée friend's wedding. The "Rocky III" star disclosed that he asked for Daily's hand in marriage on her birthday three days before, and "she was crazy enough to say 'Yes.'"
He also appreciated the groom, Corin Nemec, and his bride, Sabrina Nova, for hooking him and his sweetheart up after they met at a party.

Hogan had no qualms about spending a ton on his bride-to-be's engagement ring, as the massive diamond ring reportedly cost about $100,000.
Chris Arakel of The Diamond Bank in Los Angeles deduced this, adding that he believed the "generous sized" jewelry would be noticeable from any distance.
Describing the ring, he said, "It's truly stunning and is set nicely with smaller diamonds around the main stone. He wanted to make a statement with this ring; it can be seen from far away."
Daily was glimpsed earlier in July rocking the trinket in a video of herself with Hogan, recalling their first encounter at an event. Meanwhile, their upcoming union will mark the "Thunder in Paradise" star's third marriage.
