Just before the update, the 27-year-old had reacted to losing numerous followers, taking to her Instagram Story to state, "Seeing all these people unfollow me makes me feel like I've defeated a large beast that's been holding me down for so long. And it feels like I can reconnect with the people who really matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was."

Doja shared the remark against an image of moving cars on a highway. The same picture appeared in her next post alongside a cryptic message that read, "I do not 'fart,' my a** simply whispers."

The clash ash also resulted in the deactivation of three of her most notable X stan accounts, namely Doja HQ, The Kittens Room, and Doja Cat News. As it turned out, the "So High" hitmaker told the page's handlers and her other fans to "get a life, get a job, and help your parents with the house."

Things got worse after one of her supporters told her that they had held a poll on X to decide on the best name for the fan base in 2020, and the singer-songwriter responded that the person created the poll as an "alcoholic teen."

"My fans don't call themselves sh*t," Doja added before her man, Jeffrey Cyrus, got caught in the crossfire. Per The Blast, netizens uploaded several screenshots containing posts of the comedian commenting on the previous sexual assaults he may have committed.

At the same time, another person behind one of the other now-deactivated pages, Amir, shared his perspective on the dynamic between celebrities and their followers. In his words:

"Artists don't owe fans anything outside of surface-level respect. It's a 50/50 thing, you know? I respect you for what you do, and you respect me in return for that support."

Explaining more, he stated that the decision to deactivate the account was a way to prove that their support could be withdrawn at any time, adding, "We do so much campaigning and promotion for her that isn't worth it if her comments are how she really feels."
