Amy Robach Turned Down Her NewsNation Offer
Amy Robach allegedly shut down recent reports that she has a new job at NewsNation. Insiders close to Robach claim the former "Good Morning America 3" co-host is "waiting for the right opportunity" to come.
Sources spoke to U.S Sun and revealed that Robach isn't working on a show with NewsNation. The TV personality has reportedly denied the report to several close friends and said she's waiting for the perfect new gig.
Another source told the publication, "There is no truth to this deal and no one around Amy has any idea where this false NewsNation info came from." The new job was meant to be Robach's comeback TV gig after her exit from ABC News.
The Show Was For Just Amy Robach, No T.J. Holmes
According to the DailyMail report revealing Robach's NewsNation gig, she was meant to host her own show. The offer noticeably didn't include Robach's former co-host and new partner, T.J Holmes.
Sources told the news outlet that the NewsNation originally wanted both Holmes and Robach as co-anchors for the new show. However, they later terminated that plan and decided to move forward with just Robach, deciding her partner had no place in the studio.
Robach's new show was tentatively titled "Robach & Co" and meant to be a "weekly talk/sit-down with different newsmakers and human interest stories around the world." It was reportedly meant to premiere in January 2024, a year after her exit from ABC News with Holmes.
Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Were Fired After The Affair Scandal
Holmes and Robach were first placed on suspension from "Good Morning America" after their affair was made public in December 2022. They've been co-anchors since 2020 and were married to other people when the workplace romance started.
It was made public when paparazzi caught Holmes and Robach on a romantic weekend getaway. Photos of them on dates soon started going viral on social media, which caused a lot of criticism of them for cheating on their partners.
Shortly after they went on hiatus from "GMA3" and ABC News, the couple ended their contracts as co-hosts with the studio. At the time, ABC News released a statement that read, "After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, about different options, we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions."
They Are Reportedly Planning Their Future Together
Since their exit from ABC, Holmes and Robach have been planning their future together. An insider revealed to Us Weekly that the couple are "in a good place" and planning their engagement. They said, "They're moving on from all the negativity around the affair and looking toward the future together."
The source explained that the lovebirds have been taking private time to lay low and let the scandal blow over. They shared that the couple has also been busy looking for their new project but aren't in a hurry.
"They are still getting paid severance by ABC. So, they're in no rush to get another show. But they're still pitching shows and would like to work together," the insider shared.
In an earlier report by Us Weekly, another source said Holmes and Robach have been "pitching themselves as a duo" to studios. They stated, "They've pitched a reality show, docuseries and daytime talk show, all of which they know will be popular and people will watch."
