Someone stole Sabrina Ionescu’s new signature shoes from the arena after a recent game. The New York Liberty star player recently took to social media to plea for them back, or at least the insoles. 

Ionescu recently shared the sad news on X, formerly known as Twitter, and in an Instagram Story. 

“Never thought I would get my shoes stolen from an opposing arena…Please just bring me my insoles back. RIP to my Sabrina 1s,” she announced on social media on Thursday.

Ionescu helped to lead her team to the 2023 WNBA Commissioner's Cup and then beat the Las Vegas Aces Tuesday night. While she did not specify what arena her new signature Nikes were stolen from, fans are speculating that it was at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, where the two teams are playing each other again Thursday night. And based on sports reporter Khristina Williams' tweet, fans are correct.

"Ionescu’s shoes were specifically modified to her feet due to previous injury history. A source tells me that Liberty staff will review footage with Michelob Ultra arena security to try to find the culprit," Williams shared on X.

Williams also shared, "A source familiar w/ the situation tells me that Ionescu believes the shoes were taken after the Commissioners Cup game on Tuesday or before shoot around this morning. The shoes were locked in a room next to the guest locker room where only a certain arena/team staff had access."

Many of Ionescu's fans replied to her tweet focusing on the insoles.

One fan responded, "Not the insoles. That’s criminal." Another said, "They’re gonna be calling tonight the 'insole game.'" Everyone seemed to fully understand her wanting the insoles back, because another fan added, "Them insoles be the glue for them players feet… y’all just bring that back if anything smh."

Another fan wrote, "They gotta steal your shoes cause you the best in the league," and another said, "They’re trying to throw you off your games. #Drop40." 

The Liberty guard announced her new signature shoes on her Instagram page back in March. She's posted a few photos and videos of the shoes since then. They were originally supposed to be released in early August but Nike pushed it back a few weeks.

On Nike's website, Sabrina 1 "Iconic" and Sabrina 1 "Spark" are listed as "Coming Soon" and both retail for $130.

Many of her fans are excited about her first signature shoes and left comments for her on Instagram about how they can't wait to get a pair.

"Definitely grabbing a pair! These are ??," one fan wrote. Another added, "These are? definitely buying my daughter a pair."

Many other fans simply left hearts and fire emojis in the comments.

Nike Basketball dropped into the comments of her video that shows her first day as a signature athlete and said, "Signature SZN ?."
