In July, ESPN reported that the New York Liberty set a franchise record for points as Ionescu got her second triple-double of the season against the Las Vegas Aces. Her 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists marked the third triple-double of her pro-basketball career, which tied her with the Chicago Sky's Candace Parker for the most in a WNBA career. Ionescu was also the first WNBA player to score at least 30 points in a triple-double game, breaking Los Angeles Sparks star Lisa Leslie's 29 points in 2004.

"I'm just trying to be the best that I can every time I step out on the floor," she said. "It's me versus me. I'm trying to get better and continue to learn from all the situations that I've been put in."

Ionescu is currently gearing up for her fourth season in the WNBA starting this May. "It's my first offseason not rehabbing, and I could say it's the first offseason that I've been able to kind of map out and know exactly what it's going to look like and not have any obstacles of surgery procedures, you know, whatever that looks like," she recently told The New York Post at the American Express x NBA 2K23 Gaming Lab event in New York City. "And so it's been exciting. And now getting back to training and so super excited, just hit the ground running."

He was drafted in 2015 by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the draft and has also played for the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. The Raiders signed Grasu to the practice squad in October 2021 before signing him to a future contract months later in January 2022. He began the 2022 season on the practice squad but was promoted to the active roster in December and is currently a free agent.
