Britney Spears and Sam Asghari Reportedly Heading For Divorce Amid Cheating Allegations

Singer Britney Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari, might be calling it quits a little over a year from when they first tied the knot in her Thousand Oaks estate in June 2022.

Their relationship has been plagued by rumors of trouble almost immediately. In addition to claims that the two were living in separate houses, the two were photographed without wedding rings earlier this year. Britney also deleted her Valentine’s Day tribute to the actor and claimed that her husband thought she had “gone bonkers” due to her new love of meditation.

However, it looks like accusations of infidelity might have been the reason the two might be calling it quits.

On Wednesday, reports surfaced that the “Mind Your Business” singer and the former personal trainer might be heading their separate ways. A source told TMZ that Sam confronted his wife about rumors that she was unfaithful to him.

This would be news to fans, who have repeatedly expressed concern that the pop star spends too much time dancing inside her living room since her conservatorship ended in November 2021. It is unclear if there is any truth to the rumor; however, it seemed that Sam believed it and the two reportedly had a huge argument.

After the two got married, Britney bought a mansion in a nearby neighborhood; however, she did not like it and ended up selling it at a loss earlier this year. It is unclear where Sam is now staying, as a source told the outlet that Sam has moved out and is now living on his own. The source claimed that “It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce.”

It’s unclear if the two are really going to separate a little over a year after they tied the knot. Britney reportedly has a prenup in place to protect her assets, but it remains unclear if the argument is really going to go that far. The two started dating in 2016 after he appeared in her “Slumber Party” music video and he popped the question in September 2021, months before her conservatorship ended.

In December 2022, fans were understandably concerned for the pop star after she admitted to crying in her car in a since-deleted Instagram post. The “Toxic” singer didn’t hold back in her lengthy caption, writing, “I’m that meditation b—- now ??‍♀️… my husband hates it … he thinks I’ve gone bonkers.”

She said that she is “too sensitive” and admitted, “If anything goes wrong at the house it’s like the world has ended.” It’s unclear if she had another argument with Sam, as she later went on to say that she got in her car, which she refers to as her “spaceship,” and “cried so d— hard.”

“So l got in my car yesterday and I cried … I cried so d— hard but geez, my car is my spaceship ? … it’s where I have my best interests, thoughts, creative urges, ideas, it’s spiritual … totally spiritual and we’re all in this together on the road,” she wrote at the time.

While she was out, she got hungry, and admitted that she “forgot to eat yesterday.” She headed to Jack In The Box and felt that the employee at the drive-thru window gave her “pity” even though she felt that he couldn’t tell that she had been crying.

‘Well …………… I had been crying in the car … but nobody could tell, only me … my face still looked normal … I was fine, but then there he was … this big man at the f—ing window?… he gave me PITY !!! IT’S GONNA BE OK !!!” she wrote.

In May 2022, a new TV special called “Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom” opened up a bit more on Britney’s relationship with the actor, calling her behavior “erratic” and noting that their relationship had turned physical. According to TMZ:

“We’re told Britney has gotten physical with Sam and screaming matches have been frequent. We’re also told things have gotten so volatile security has had to step in. Our sources say Sam doesn’t stay at their home much anymore and it’s especially alarming because of how she has come to rely on him.”

Despite the reports, the couple tried to put on a brave face on social media, sharing photos and videos of the two together. However, in March, they were photographed without their wedding rings. At the time, a rep for Sam insisted that their marriage was still going smoothly and that he had simply removed his ring for a movie role. There was no word on why Britney would have removed hers.

Neither Sam nor Britney has commented on the possible split on social media; however, Sam did say that he was taking a break from social media to care for his mother after she suffered a "major accident" that landed her in the emergency room.
