Former "Jackass" star and stuntman Bam Margera has faced a loss in court as his estranged wife Nicole Boyd was granted temporary custody of their son, Phoenix.

The pair has been embroiled in a legal battle since Boyd filed for separation from Margera and requested full custody of Phoenix in February.

Margera, who was recently cited for public intoxication and disorderly conduct, also filed for joint custody of his son Phoenix, claiming he is now doing better with his sobriety. At the time, he claimed that Boyd was doing everything she could to keep him away from his son.

"Jackass" star Margera's wife has been granted temporary custody of their 5-year-old son following a legal battle between the duo.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Boyd has been given primary legal and physical custody of Phoenix, while Margera's access to his son has been restricted to FaceTime calls only.

The ruling on Tuesday saw Boyd physically present in court while Margera appeared virtually. 

Margera will now have the right to FaceTime Phoenix for 20 minutes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 30 minutes on Sundays. Per the news outlet, Boyd has been barred from monitoring the calls between the father and son.

As previously reported by The Blast, Boyd filed for separation from Margera back in February and requested full custody of Phoenix. She also asked that Margera be granted supervised visits.

The court document read partly, "I request that visitation (parenting time) be supervised for the following persons, with the following restrictions." It continued, "With a professional monitor to be selected by Respondent, but approved by Petitioner‚ at Respondent's sole expense."

Bam Margera Claims He's Doing Better With His Sobriety

Last month, Margera revealed that he had made significant progress with his sobriety and that he was in therapy. The pro skateboarder stated these as reasons why he should be given joint custody of Phoenix, per TMZ.

While speaking with the news outlet, Margera alleged that his estranged wife wants to remove him from his son's life by painting him as an "armed" person. He noted, "It's really hard being in California knowing my son is in Burbank and you know, I could be hugging him in 10 minutes if I wanted but she ghosts my calls."

At the time, Margera explained that it's "been months" since he had access to Phoenix, stating that Boyd is trying to make him look bad even though he has an eight-year-old child under his care.

"I take care of an eight-year-old named Isabel. I live with her, I get to take her to the movies and take her to the park, but when it comes to Phoenix..." Margera said, adding, "I've never even carried a knife or shot a gun…"

Nicole Boyd Says She's Trying To Protect Their Son

In a conversation with TMZ, Boyd contrasted Margera's claims and explained her stance on the issue, saying that her estranged husband's behavior has been "extremely scary." She noted that she had to put their son first and protect him.

When questioned on Margera's endeavors to become sober, Boyd said, "I haven't seen anything that's really consistent, and he has to really want it, and I just haven't seen that yet. And yeah, I'm terrified that I'm going to get that phone call…"

She also spoke about her ex's behavior, saying, "It's scary, his behavior has been extremely scary, and automatically I'm going to choose our son. And he's put us in some extremely dangerous situations where I've had to remove us. Yeah, so it's scary."

The Blast reported in June that Boyd claimed Margera "held a knife to his own throat and yelled threatening words at [her]." In legal court documents, she also noted that she tried to support Margera while he was in rehab despite the alleged knife incident.

Amid his ongoing court battle with Boyd, Margera is still having frequent run-ins with law enforcement.

He was recently taken into custody for allegedly being inebriated in public. According to TMZ, On Wednesday morning, Margera was arrested after officers caught him yelling while in an argument with a woman outside of the Radnor Hotel.

Sources for the news outlet claimed that Margera slurred his words and reeked of alcohol. The filmmaker was issued citations for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being taken to a police station. He was reportedly released after contacting a friend.
