And Just Like That, A Relationship Ends On ‘Temptation Island’

As one relationship ends, another begins. 

While Kaitlin was completely blindsided by Hall’s visit to the girls’ villa and what he had to say to her, one chapter comes to a close while a new one is just getting started. As the first engaged couple on “Temptation Island,” to see it end the way it did may have shocked some fans. It certainly shocked Katilin. 

After receiving Kaitlin’s 30 second video message, Hall felt the time was right to explain his thoughts and feelings about his relationship with Kaitlin. He took the long trek across the island to break the news face-to-face. When Kaitlin saw Hall, it was clear that she had no idea what was about to happen. Was he about to say, “Let’s leave now and get married,” or “We’re done. It’s time to move on.” Spoiler alert - it’s the latter. 

“I have never had a real emotional connection with you, and I’ve tried my entire life to find that connection. You are the best person that I’ve ever met in my entire life, so I forced myself to go back to you and I’ve been lying to myself,” Hall said. 

“But I also never saw true love in your eyes to me. The day I proposed to you, I never saw true love in your eyes.” 

He also explained that his biggest fear has been hurting Kaitlin, but he wants to find happiness, and it’s just not with her. 

“I’m not the one for you,” he said. “You deserve so much better. We are not meant to be together.”

While Kaitlin said it was her hope to grow stronger and make the relationship work, she realizes it’s now time to focus on herself. When she walked back into the house with tears in her eyes, she met the girls who all were shocked at what just transpired. They all shared a moment crying and hugging and supporting each other. 

It appears that Hall’s trip to the other side of the island took up much of the day. He apparently didn’t let anyone know where he was going or what he was doing, so everyone was concerned that he was nowhere to be found; especially Makayla who was completely in her feelings.

Makayla opened up to Alexius about how she let her wall down and how she truly feels about Hall. 

When Hall finally arrived back at the guys’ villa, everyone was in the kitchen cooking and chatting. Makayla’s face said it all. She was so excited to see him back, but completely nervous about what was about to go down. He asked her to go chat alone and it was then that she found out that Hall broke it off with Kaitlin and is serious about moving forward with her. 

“Makayla makes me so happy,” he said. 

During the bonfire, host Mark L. Walberg told the girls that this was the last bonfire they would be at together and that the next one is the final one where they reunite with who they came to the island with. 

Everyone had a moment of clarity during the bonfire. Vanessa saw Rob say that he’s not ready to let her go because he still loves her, but then the second clip was Rob telling everyone that she needs a man like him but not him because he’s “dealt with her for so long” and “she drains” him and sucks the soul out of his life. 

Her reaction was pretty shocking to everyone. 

“He finally came through for me,” she said. “He just remains solid, and I understand that he’s hurting but he didn’t allow that hurt to drive him into the arms of someone else. He didn’t look for comfort or peace with someone else and I’m proud of him. I’m so proud of him. For like the first time, I can look at him and say you made me proud.” 

Paris saw a clip of Great’s date with Nafeesah and the two of them stripped down walking into the shower. Needless to say, she wasn’t too happy about any of it. 

Marisela saw Chris say that he knows she will be crawling back to him, but she made her choice and has to stick with it. She assured everyone she’s not going to be crawling back to him.

Kaitlin saw Makayla and Hall talking about kids and their timeline.

“I’m angry. I’m disappointed. I was fighting for this relationship that he didn’t even care about,” she said. “I feel relieved.” 

The girls were told that they now have to pick their final date and any singles not chosen will be sent home. 

The guys’ bonfire had a similar tone. Chris saw Marisela talk about how freedom away from him feels and saw her kissing Kristian. 

Rob saw Vanessa talking to Brice about working on being more vulnerable.

“It’s kind of like the audacity, because that is how I feel,” he explained. “I don’t express my opinion because I know it’s going to lead to a fight and that fight is not gonna end unless I say I’m sorry.”

Great saw Paris and Tahjicc kissing to which he said, “I see a single girl doing single things.” 

Hall saw the girls talking about him breaking up with Kaitlin and being called selfish. He also saw Kaitlin and Sebastian getting closer. 

Walberg informed the guys that there will be no more bonfire clips or Temptation light moving forward, so things are really coming to a do or die kind of vibe for everyone.
