Simone Biles Admits 'Long Distance Is Tough' Amid Marriage To Jonathan Owens

Simone Biles is opening up about the challenges in her marital life!

Biles has been married to fellow athlete Jonathan Owens for only three months, since April 22, 2023, but she misses him a lot.

Given the couple's busy careers, they are not able to see each other as often as they wish, and the phenomenal gymnast could not help but be open about it to her fans.

Biles is having trouble doing long distance with her husband after he left for the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin, for the NFL preseason. She recently talked about her situation in an Instagram Q&A session when a fan asked, "How often do you see your husband?"

In response, the 26-year-old athlete admitted, "When he was in Houston, every day!!!!! But he's in green bay now." She added that she would only be able to see him for a bit after one of his upcoming games. In her words: "It will be at 1 of the 3 pre-season games but just quickly after... like 35mins."

Speaking more about handling long distance, Biles revealed that she and Owens have discussed trying to figure out when she would see him again. Although she did not mention when that will be, she explained, "Long distance is tough & both being professional athletes is hard... for our schedules…"

Avid fans of the Biles-Owens couple would recall when Biles' partner got signed to the Green Bay Packers in May, prompting him to leave shortly after the lovebirds' brief honeymoon.

The Olympic gold medalist was over the moon about the development but heartbroken to have her husband away from her so soon. Expressing how she felt, she took to her Instagram Story at the time with a sad photo of herself in a car. Her eyes were puffy, and her usually perfect hair was in disarray.

Biles captioned the post with the reason for her depressing appearance: "Bawled my eyes out this morning when Jonathan left for Green Bay." She also noted that she was "a mess." Bidding her man goodbye was a far cry from how she reacted to his signing.

The NFL star joined the Packers as their newest safety on May 12. As expected, he proudly announced the news on Instagram, using snaps to highlight his move to his new team. In the images, the former Houston Texans star was captured signing his transfer paperwork with his devoted wife by his side.

There was also a lovely shot of the soulmates wearing the team's jerseys and posing at Green Bay's Lambeau field. Celebrating the achievement, Owens captioned the post, "New beginnings. Perfect cap to an amazing week. Let's get to work. Year 6 on the way." 

Biles wasted no time supporting the former Arizona Cardinals player by reposting the same photos on her Instagram, including a charming picture of the duo flaunting their wedding rings. Taking to the caption, the ecstatic partner wrote, "Slight wedding content intermission to say GO PACK GO. So proud of you, baby! Here's to new beginnings! Year 6! LFG!"

Joining the Wisconsin-based team was a huge next step for Owens, who became part of the N.F.L. in 2018, serving as an undrafted free agent, after which he joined the Houston Texans.

The St. Louis native gained considerable attention by starting 17 games with 125 tackles, 84 solo tackles, and four pass breakups, among other achievements. Meanwhile, his deal with the Green Bay Packers came during their indecision on re-signing their former strong safety, Adrian Amos.

Although Biles and Owens may have an enviable connection, they also have their not-so-perfect moments when they quarrel.

The award-winning acrobat divulged so to her fans via a Q&A session when she was asked, "What biggest fight have you and your husband ever had?" She candidly stated that they rarely argued, and whenever they did, it was "always something that has nothing to do with us."

Biles further shared what their last disagreement was about, saying: "Our last 'fight/bicker' was about the Espy's lmao. If you need to be present to win or not." While this may have been amusing to her fans, the couple's friends also find it funny, according to the celeb.

Highlighting what the lovers bicker about, she wrote, "We've fought over LeBron James, Keke Palmer, hahaha aha. Stupid stuff always."
