The heartbreak season continues, with NeNe Leakes joining the ever-growing list of celebrity breakups. The reality TV star recently confirmed the end of her romance with the Liberian-American hunk, Nyonisela Sioh.
The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum's separation from the fashion designer came after months of speculations about their relationship. Fans became concerned about their love following the TV personality's "soft era" and "narcissistic men" rant.
The New Yorker's split could not have occurred at the worst time as her son, Bryson Bryant, was recently arrested on drug possession charges. Despite losing her former supporter during this emotionally challenging period, the 55-year-old has no beef with her ex.
NeNe Leakes Proves She Is Over Nyonisela Sioh As She Implores Women To Hit On Him
During part one of her "Reality with the King" podcast interview, the mother of one revealed she and Sioh had been separated for a while. As seen in the YouTube clip, the entertainer did not shed any tears for her former beau as she appeared unconcerned about their breakup.
"Today, we are taking a break. We've been taking a break," the "Glee" actress announced. Although she did not share how long the pair had stopped being an item, the media personality opened up about the reason behind their separation.
"It's … things I'm not happy with, things he's not happy with. It's just not working at the moment," Leakes confessed before playfully adding: "He is single, so if any of the ladies out there want to holla at him, go right ahead."
As aforementioned, the "Dancing with the Stars" alum's breakup came amid speculations about her romance with Sioh. Last month, the 55-year-old hinted at trouble in her relationship with a "soft era" declaration.
During an Instagram Story update, the New Yorker dropped multiple clips highlighting her interest in happiness and letting go of grudges. Filming herself at home with a stunning honey-blonde weave and glammed-up face, the entertainer addressed the rumors about her.
According to the "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella" Broadway star, she had gotten “lots of emails, text messages, and DMs” from those curious about her life. Describing their inquiries as “this and that subject,” the social media personality stated she was not interested in answering any questions.
Hinting at a possible separation from Sioh, the 55-year-old wrote: “I am moving into my soft era, and my main focus is my happiness, and I’m not the kind of person that holds grudges.”
The SWAGG Boutique founder noted it was human to be angry, but she would not let this negative emotion control her future. "I kinda like to let it go and just let God and move on. That’s just how I am in real life," the mother of one continued.
Leakes explained that holding on to grudges would eventually make a person bitter and affect their energy. Instead, the entrepreneur was letting go of hatred to embrace her "soft era." The Linnethia Lounge owner claimed she had spent a good portion of her life taking care of others and wished to prioritize herself.
The 'To Tell the Truth' Panelist Was Heartbroken By Her Son's Arrest
During her "Reality with the King" podcast appearance, the TV personality also broke her silence about her son's trouble with the law. Her oldest son, Bryson Bryant was arrested earlier in July on drug possession charges — a darkness the entertainer noted had gripped him for some time.
According to Leakes, she felt helpless and brokenhearted watching her son's life go down the drain because of his addiction. Despite doing her best to support Bryant over the years, the OG Housewife noted his destructive tendencies were stronger.
“I spoke to him on the phone. I think he’s doing OK,” Leakes responded to the host, Carlos King's inquiry about her son's well-being. “He needs rehabilitation. He needs a lot of counseling.”
“Like many families out there, I have family members that are struggling with drugs and certain addictions. He has an addiction,” the New Yorker lamented. “He’s been struggling with it for years. He’s been in rehab a couple of times, and he still has come back out and relapsed.”
Getting real about her pain, the NeNe Leakes Entertainment founder wailed: “As a mom, just to watch it, my hands are tied. [There’s] not much that I can do. For people who have had children or family members that have been on drugs, they know that they have to be ready. They have to simply be ready.”
