'Jersey Shore' Star Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi Opens Up About Struggles With Her Weight

In a world often obsessed with appearances, the beloved "Jersey Shore" star, who is familiar with online trolls' criticism, decided to speak out, not only for herself but also for those who have faced body image struggles. The TV personality shares three children with her husband, Jionni LaValle. 

The 35-year-old began the TikTok video by letting her viewers know that her kids were getting ready for bed before saying, "I just wanted to make this video to talk about this because I know it's an issue for a lot of people. Men, women, everybody, it's an issue. And it's called weight." 

The reality TV star opened up about her lifelong battle with weight, sharing that there was a time in high school when she was not "eating, underweight and had no energy." Despite fitting into the size zero jeans she had once longed for, the mother-of-three confessed that she was not truly happy. 

The struggle continued for years after high school until 2009, when she received the life-changing call about "Jersey Shore." At 21, everything shifted, and she finally freed herself to enjoy life and stop constantly worrying about calories.

Snooki acknowledged that she gained weight while filming the show but remained steadfast in her confidence, regardless of size. She said, "I feel like I was always confident in my skin no matter my size. I could be a size zero, size five, or size eight, and I was like ok, because I'm confident, I know that I'm beautiful, I'm amazing no matter what size I am." 

She addressed the normal weight fluctuations people experience and emphasized that these are not open for discussion, especially in the comment section of someone's photo. 

"It's so hard when you are so short. I am the same way. You are so cute!!!" a fan commented, to which the "Supernatural" guest star playfully replied, "Oh boo, when we gain 5 lbs, it looks like 25 LOL. Short people problems."

Another devotee excitedly stated, "Yes queen!!!! ?? ?? Our weight is the least interesting thing about us!" while a third gushed, "?still obsessed with snooks since 2009 ?????." Another supporter commented, "You are not defined by your weight, girl... You are fabulous !!" 

The "Movie 43" cameo star's body from time has not been safe from nice or disparaging comments. In 2020, she found herself admitting to a change she felt needed to happen for her body.

While celebrating July 4th, the media personality confidently flaunted her stunning body in a black wrap-around skirt and a bold bikini top adorned with blue-and-white stars and a red-strapped finish.

A fan inquired about her surgically enhanced assets from 2016, asking how they were affected after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Snooki admitted, "Def need to get them redone after breastfeeding again." However, fans quickly reassured her, praising her natural beauty and claiming they were already perfect.  

The entrepreneur shared the exciting news on her podcast, "It's Happening with Snooki & Joey," that she would be putting a down payment on a house at the Shore. While still a secret and not finalized, she disclosed her vision for the property, intending to turn it into a rental destination for her devoted fans, aptly named "Snooki's House." 

The "Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry" guest star enthusiastically shared her plans, saying, "I'm gonna decorate it all like myself, like, Karma-style Snooki. I'm gonna have Crocodilly in there. I want it to be like Snooki Shore house."

The "DWTS" contestant noted that she would let her fans rent out the shore house for days, offering them a unique experience during their visits to the Seaside. She warmly invited them to stay in her shore house and explore the Snooki Shop.

Before opening it to the public, the "How Far Is Tattoo Far?" host revealed that she and her cast mates would stay in the location. She explained:

"We're gonna stay there first to try it out. So like, we're shooting some of the new season of 'Jersey' and I told them I wanted to do that, so I think us girls are gonna stay there for the night and pretend like, you know, we're like Airbnb-ers."
