Singer Britney Spears has teamed up with rapper will.i.am for yet another collaboration after the success of "Scream & Shout," but it appears that not all fans are happy with it.
Or, rather, they're not happy about the promotional image that is being used to market the new song. The promotional image that is used for Britney was taken in 2003. Not only does that make the image twenty years old, but it also was taken ten years before their first hit song.
Fans Are Not Happy That Britney Spears and will.i.am Used A Photo From 2003 To Promote 'Mind Your Business'
On Monday night, the Black Eyed Peas frontman took to Twitter in order to tease the new song release with a teaser clip that began with the lyrics from their hit song "Scream and Shout."
Will.i.am's voice starts off with the lines, "You are now, now rocking with / Will.I.Am and…," before she adds "Britney, b*tch."
In this new version, Britney adds, "Mind your business, b*tch!"

Many fans were hopeful that the song would drop on Tuesday, given the mention of "tomorrow" at the end of the clip. "Britney" and "Britney Is Coming" started trending all day on Tuesday, but the song did not come.
Instead, at 6 PM ET, will.i.am posted a teaser for the new song, revealing that it would be coming on Friday.
July 21st is the date…
I’m so excited for this release…I feel like it’s the first released all over again…
I can’t wait for FRIDAY…

"July 21st is the date… I’m so excited for this release…" he tweeted. "I feel like it’s the first released all over again… I can’t wait for FRIDAY…"
He also added cover art to his website that looks like it is the official cover art of the new song. However, fans were not happy to see that the photo was taken in 2003.
Fans Question Why A Twenty-Year-Old Photo Of Britney Was Used!
A 2003 photo of Britney Spears, taken by Mark Liddell, has been used in a promotional image for her new collaboration with https://t.co/FUVTd52xfJ, “Mind Your Business.” pic.twitter.com/43OZ8StmTm

Pop Crave was one of the first to give fans a clear side-by-side look at the cover art taken from will.i.am’s website and the photo that was taken by Mark Liddell back in 2003. In the caption, they wrote, “A 2003 photo of Britney Spears, taken by Mark Liddell, has been used in a promotional image for her new collaboration with will.i.am, ‘Mind Your Business.’”
Unfortunately, it is not clear to anyone why they decided to use this photo of Britney, or if there is any significance behind it. One user joked, “I would have asked why she didn’t use a current picture but she said we should mind our business.” Although some got the joke, another user countered, “But in the duet with Elton John, she said, ‘Hold Me Closer.’ Which is it, Britney?”
“I can't believe they photoshopped her old head onto something for the cover,” another user wrote. “I think she’s still gorgeous; she’s just getting older and went through a lot during her C-Ship but of course they went with what’s marketable,” another fan chimed in.
“I don’t think she cares to promote much. She has her own reasons why,” another fan ventured, before adding, “I mean I just feel like she’s been through so much and people continue to talk sh*t. I’m sure there’s stuff we don’t even know about.”
“When she’s had people controlling her for years why would she feel comfortable being in the light or promoting, it probably gives her anxiety. People treat celebs like sh*t,” they continued. “Someone like Britney doesn’t deserve to be talked down on so much. She doesn’t talk bad about anyone! Before all this happened people treated her like trash. I will always stand up for her.”
Although it's not clear why an old image of Britney was used in the cover art, it's good to see that Britney has fans standing up for her!
"Mind Your Business" will be released on Friday, July 21, although what time it will be released is anyone's guess!
