Amidst the poignant moment, the reality TV star also takes a moment to shine the spotlight on the matriarch's remarkable talent. Earlier this year, she shared the heartbreaking news of her mom's passing, describing her as "loving, kind, and supportive" in a sweet tribute.

In a touching Instagram post, the former beauty pageant shared a sepia-colored picture of the late brunette beauty holding a giant fish and sporting a proud smile. Standing on a deck with boats anchored behind her, she wore a long-sleeved waterproof jacket over what looked like a collared shirt as she held tightly onto her prize.
Captioning the image, Moakler wrote, "I got to brag about my mom tonight… Portuguese pride!! She kicked ass in a fishing comp…. Besides that, she's fckn gorgeous….." Then in the bottom right-hand corner, she emotionally added, "I miss her."
Although Shanna's world shattered when she received the devastating news of her mother's passing, the former Miss New York USA took to her Instagram Story to commemorate her bittersweet posthumous birthday milestone.
Sharing a vintage photograph of her parents locked in an intimate embrace, the actress expressed her heartfelt wishes, writing, "Happy heavenly bday, Mom. I wish so badly we could go to Ricotti's, sit on the deck, have a screwdriver[.] look at birds and listen to The Bee Gees."
The "Joey" star also allowed fans to glimpse their final conversations by sharing heartfelt screenshots of their text exchanges. The message began with Gail writing, "We are supposed to get snow flurries today or tomorrow. I'm kind of looking forward to it [.] I love snow."
As the December 2001 Playmate of the Month replied, her mother expressed physical and mental contentment, sharing that she was in "such a good place right now." The late matriarch declared her affection before ending with a heartfelt "I love you, honey."
The model reciprocated her mother's sentiments, to which Gail responded by emphasizing how much Shanna means to her, stating, "I need my girl [.] you mean so much to me you have no idea. I am so proud of you. I am so proud to be your mama."

Even though she announced Gail's demise at the beginning of the year, it did not stop the TV personality from dedicating a post to her on the special occasion as she has always done. The 48-year-old commenced her tribute with a throwback image capturing a younger Shanna and her mother beaming at the camera.
Atop the Instagram Story update, colorful words read "Happy Mother's Day." She followed it up with another vintage photo that depicted Gail playfully throwing her up in the air near what appeared to be a makeshift bridge.
The late mother rolled up her jeans, complemented by a black top with white sleeves and collar, while little Shanna radiated joy in her sleeveless dungarees. The post instantly garnered warm responses from fans, who sent love and support to the "Pacific Blue" star during what they acknowledged as a challenging day without her biggest supporter.
One fan declared, "Beautiful memories for two very beautiful women! She is now your personal "angel" ?️." Another sent virtual hugs, acknowledging the emotional difficulty of the day, while a third wrote, "Sending so much love and hugs to you on this day!!! You and you're [sic] mother are so beautiful!" A fourth also advised, "Stay strong, Shanna, you deserve to celebrate today. It's also your day."
The "Bridalplasty" host also took to her Instagram Story to share further updates, highlighting her daughter Atiana De La Hoya's tribute to her grandmother. In a series of heartfelt reposts from the 24-year-old's page, the first featured a younger Atiana pointing at the camera while the "Due South" star lovingly looked on.
The photo showcased the duo posing in front of a piano, accompanied by the caption, "Happy Mother's Day, beautiful mama." Shanna then shared another repost from the budding model, which captured a throwback of the three women - Gail, the "Punk'd" guest star, and Atiana.
The trio appeared to be at a special ceremony, with the "Price is Right" celebrity judge wearing a white and green outfit adorned with a flower wreath while her daughter donned a white baptismal gown.
